From the curb, i wasn't so sure. But once inside this place - I could have swore i was eating in New York, or Chicago, at a first class establishment. The music was perfect, the lighting was perfect, the ambiance, decor... perfect. The food was...incredible. You could pick this place up, and set it down in Vegas, or NY.. and... More

We had sea bass, filet mignon, and duck. The dishes were delightful, as always, and the chef was attentive to our needs without getting in the way. It was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday with our friends.

For those who have never been to Che Grace,it is hard to know where to begin to describe. Chef Z is truly a one man show: he takes your reservation, greats you, seats you, serves you, educates you, entertains you and becomes your friend. Oh, and did I mention the food? Last night I had Fillet Mignon. It was topped... More

We first met Chef David when our children were going to school in Iowa, 6 years ago. His restaurant is quietly elegant. The food preparation is exquisite. Chef treated us as special guests the first time we ate there and we have been fortunate to celebrate two graduation dinners there. The experience is worth the price. Though the kids are... More

This little restaurant is a refreshing surprise. It is an intimate atmosphere that is conducive to visiting and quiet and calming. The decor is very pleasing to the eye and reminds me of small little cafe's in Europe.David, the chef and owner, will do anything to please you. The food is cooked to perfection and preference. It is pricey but... More

I have been to Chez grace 2 or 3 times now. It is truly a unique place. It is expensive, but the food is excellent. The wait to seat is null. However, the wait for the food can be long. This is due to 1 man (owner) runs the whole show, he is the chef, the host, the servicer. There... More

The ambiance was warm, upscale and inviting. The exterior is misleading (in a strip mall) for what you find inside. It seats only 16 people so it is private feeling. The chef was really interactive which was very fun. Overall a nice experience.

Went here for the first time with my daughter and her boyfriend October 13, 2012. What a treat! Such a find in Iowa City area. Great food, excellent service and nice wine selections. He really took good care of us. Will be back on the next trip to Iowa City. Can not belief it is in a strip mall! Once... More

Let me start by saying that I am a REALLY picky eater, and the Midwest has a surfeit of "adequate" food. Chez Grace is the real thing; the food is perfect, the wine is good, the experience is nonpareil. We go twice a month and we LOVE Chef David. Words actually fail me as to how perfect and delicious each... More
