Nothing but good to say. Good food, good service, nice view of the river, reasonably priced for the quality.

My wife and I were at this restaurant in late March with friends. We had called late for reservations but were given a very nice table over looking the Iowa River. The restaurant appears to be an old power plant that's been renovated into a restaurant. It shares common space with another restaurant which I believe is a sports bar.... More

Second time we have eaten at Iowa River Power. First time was as two couples seated right next to the massive windows during a ferocious thunderstorm. Probably the best view/entertainment we have ever had for dinner. Even without the storm, the view would have been excellent. Our latest visit was with 16 other people for a business dinner. In both... More

The outside and location are just a facade. The inside is dated (and not in a good way). The tables are chipped (and not in a good way). The entrance smells of old cedar (and not in a good way). The view is lovely and completely overshadowed by the rest of the experience. My steak was cooked just the way... More

This is truly the BEST Sunday Brunch ever! The food was incredible....eggs in several styles, fresh fruit [in Iowa, in the winter!] of every kind, elaborate desserts which I could not eat more than a tablespoon of...they were absolutely rich. The roast [beast] prime rib, with a great sauce, salmon cooked just right, bacon, ham,....every breakfast food and every brunch item,... More

We were visiting from Denver to celebrate Thanksgiving with my 75 year old mother who also has Celiac Disease (severe gluten allergy). We were already impressed when we got a call from the owner, Denise, a week before our visit, to go over the menu, dietary restrictions, and my mother's likes, dislikes, etc. Not only was their buffet outstanding, the... My husband and I have had dinner here several times over the years. A classy restaurant in a renovated 100 year old power plant on the Iowa River. Fabulous menu with something for everyone. I've had the sesame chicken , beef teriaki, chicken parmesean. All excellent. My husband loves their prime rib. If you're in Iowa City treat your self... More

My husband and I were in town for a college football game. Our friends took us to this place for they had been there beforehand and enjoyed it. We were so glad we did. I had the turkey and cheese sandwich and it was great. My husband had the sirloin and he said it was delicious, with all meat and... More
