We waited 15 minutes to see if we were ever even talked to and NO! Not even I will be right back. So we went somewhere else. The sushi is not even that good it's just cheap. Be ready to wait forever....And this is not even the first time this has happened! Don't waste your money, go somewhere else.

Sushi choices are varied and each is outstanding. Miso soup and asian salads are very good. Service was great.

My wife and I enjoy eating at Three Samurai whenever we are in Iowa City. The food is very good, I especially love the Pee Wee Crazy Roll. Only downside is that the service is extremely slow. Plan on at least an hour to get your sushi from when you order. The food helps to make up for the wait.

The six of us had a 7:30 reservation for a tepanyaki table to celebrate a family occasion on a Thursday. By 8:30 we were seated and before too much longer even had some miso soup. Around 9:00 our cook appeared, took our orders and left again. Fortunately we are good at entertaining ourselves - it might have been wiser to... More

I came here with a friend on a bustling Friday night. We were able to be seated after a very short wait. We ordered the shrimp tempura, a few sushi rolls, and a salmon entree to be shared. The sushi and appetizer came out quickly and were delicious! Some of the sushi even ended up being cheaper than what was... More

We had heard great things about this restaurant, and decided to go through "the belly of the beast" (aka: the traffic disgorging from the Iowa Hawkeyes football game) to get to it. Good thing the trip TO the restaurant doesn't get reviewed! It's a fairly small place, tucked up on the second level of a strip shopping center (park around... More

Disclosure - this was an emotional family dinner because one of our party has developed serous special needs. The restaurant was crowded and instead of obliging us to wait 30-40 min., they took it into their hearts to seat us at a hibachi grill table and expedite our order. It was fabulous, fun, delicious, and everyone had a wonderful time.... More

The snake roll is amazing. We love the Yakisoba and Chicken Teriyaki. My boys request dinner at the grill tables every single birthday, and it is delicious as well. We probably go to Three Samurai at least once or twice a month.

We keep returning here for good sushi even though we've moved to the West Coast. Ever since our first visit back in 1989 we've enjoyed their fresh fish and local ingredients. We're sushi and sashimi traditionalists and their fish is always fresh with consistent deliveries from the Chicago fish market. Justin, the owner, has always been customer focused and he... More

The best salmon that I've ever eaten!!! Juicy, golden color and all the ingredients make this dish the best, the rice, green beans, bell pepper...Service was excellent. Definitely my next visit will be very soon. There are special tables that prepare the food in front of you. This service should be for groups. Be patient, this is not fast food!!
