I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Very nice on a pretzel bun. Sub a salad for the fries. Customer enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was very crisp and had a very nice thick piece of fish in it. Quick service and nice iced tea. Could use a little attention to the decor. Getting a little old.

I stop here quite a bit when traveling and have reviewed this before. I went again just a couple days ago. It is one of the places easy to get to and with lots of options that aren't fast food. I'm especially fond of the apple pecan salad. The place was quiet but we went mid afternoon, between meals. There... More

I had the fish and chips - thinking that would be one of the better meals since they are an "irish" type restaurant. Was the worst fish & chips I've ever had. The french fries seemed like they were done in old grease....the fish was terrible. I barely ate two bites. My co-worker wasn't impressed with her meal either. Very... More

Help wanted signage should have given some warning that service would be a bit slower. Just the same, nice selection of food on menu, and food was very good. The pot roast was falling apart delicious, the cottage pie much better than some shepherd pies tried at other restaurants. Dining area available separate from bar area. Thought the staff, including... More

Typical Bennigan's, but below Appleby's and Chili's standards. The service/food was OK, but all in all, the whole experience was nothing to write home about. It's attached to the Best Western, and I think the majority of the people in there were hotel guests...it was convenient for us.

My wife and I ate here purely because it was convenient as it's attached to the Best Western Hotel. Service was reasonably good and quick. The meal was spoiled a little by a bunch of rowdy young men at the bar loudly extolling the virtues of some cheerleaders they had seen at a football game. My wife had loaded potato... More

Have been here a few times. Sometimes okay, but not much more than that. In addition, be careful about bringing coupons - they don't always accept.

My hubby and I visited the Bennigan's in Clear Lake only because we stayed at the Best Western connected to the place and it was convenient due to the location. The experience was bad from the start. Our arms stuck to the table as we slid into the booth. The waitress we were assigned was too busy flirting with a... More

My husband and I stopped at Bennigans while on our way to Des Moines. The restaurant was fairly dead but it was 3:00 in the afternoon. We walked in and the bartender came down to greet us very cheerfully and seat us. She informed us of the specials then took our order. I can't remember her name but she was... More

For a week night, this place was dead. The hostess had to locate a waitress for us. My wife's soup was extremely running - lots of vegetables. Our sandwiches were so-so, nothing to write home to. Next time we will go to Mason City when in the area.
