Creative menu with well priced wine list. Food very fresh and we especially enjoyed the cheese plate and Mediterranean nachos. Culinary school is on-site.

This restaurant is operated by Kirkwood Community College. It services as a training facility for their culinary school. It is one of our favorite places for special celebrations. The menu is unique and changes on a regular basis. Even though the wait staff and some of the chefs are in-training, there is enough supervision that the meals go smoothly. The... More

On a road trip going through Cedar Point, Iowa we discovered The Class Act restaurant in the Kirkwood Hotel. The restaurant and hotel were classic in decor and details gave it a comfortable feel with an elegant atmosphere. We had a lunch and I told the waiter that they should take my lunch off the sandwich list since it was... More

I had a very nice birthday dinner at this place. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and even gave me a free dessert. Our food was excellently prepared & the atmosphere was sleek and contemporary.

I liked the menu selection, and the service was excellent. Try the flat iron steak for dinner and the eggs benedict for breakfast.

We ate two breakfasts and a lunch here. The menu variety is good and the food well prepared and presented with ample quantities. We found the experiences very pleasant but service is slow but very personable. If you go plan to relax and enjoy.

The waiter was a brand new graduate of the Kirkwood culinary school. He was knowledgeable, affable, and completely professional. I had the lamb with ancient grains. It was prepared exactly to my specifications. I cleaned my plate. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and would return again.

There are few fancy restaurants in Cedar Rapids (although there's plenty of great local eateries). The Class Act is a step above. Great date night out, decor is classy and food is amazing and a lot of it is purchased from local farmers. Service was fast. Pros: Price, for the caliber of restaurant the price is reasonable. Our meals were... More

We tried this restaurant for the first time for our anniversary dinner. We were looking for something upscale but without bizarre food. This fit the bill perfectly. We shared the Flag of Italy small plate as an appetizer which was delicious. My husband had the Steak and Potatoes which he said was perfect, and I chose the Local pork with... More

I think it's very cool that this place is a teaching restaurant. The menu is inventive and the food was well prepared. I love the simple and sleek decor of the restaurant. The servers were efficient and attentive, although if I'm being picky, this is the area you can tell its a teaching restaurant. While they got the job done,... More
