Zins continues to be an excellent choice for downtown dining. The tapas menu has something for everyone and always new items on the menu. Very nice wine list. Comfortable for business but elegant for fine dining or a romantic evening.

Typically I go to Iowa City for dinner. But feeling like doing something different, my wife and I chose to go to Zin's recently. We had been before with family, and recalled it having a great atmosphere and good food. The atmosphere hasn't changed, as they have very good service and a nice ambience. However the food didn't live up... More

On previous trips I really loved Zins. I get back to Iowa each summer and heading to Zins is something I look forward to. On this trip I made it to Zins twice and both experiences were underwhelming. 20 minutes+ for each drink ordered. Food that was ok but not outstanding. Has something happened with the management?

We stopped for lunch after having picked up our daughter at the airport. Staff was friendly, service was reasonably prompt and the food good—what more do you want? Used my IPTV member card for a little break on the prices. Unfortunately, they managed to drop it behind the work station, which required major surgery to move. They promised to mail... More

First, we're not new to Zins but it's been awhile since our last visit together. We made reservations for an early dinner (5:30) as we had tickets to the theater nearby and this made it very convenient. Like other reviewers, Zins is a very attractive, low-key restaurant with large windows which provides for a light and airy feeling. There was... More

Great little restaurant in downtown. Serves wonderful, tasty small plates. Your able to taste a variety of dishes and great wine selections. Also had pineapple upside down cake for desert, best I've ever had. Prices aren't to bad either!

This is a case of the good, the bad and the ugly (remember that film?). This is a tapas/small plate place. More small plate than anything a Spaniard would recognize as tapas. The good: it’s a very attractive space. I particularly like that there’s a window into the kitchen and you can see all the guys working. The lamb lollipops... More

Zins is a small plates restaurant where you can stay for a while in the nice atmosphere and order one course at a time. I recommend a bottle of wine from their nice selection and enjoying it with someone special. The menu has 4 sections and 2 large plates to choose from. Each one that I've tried was very good.... I called the DoubleTree from the airport in Chicago when our flight was delayed. It was going to be late when we arrived in Cedar Rapids and my wife and I were going to be hungry after a day of travel. The concierge initially suggested White Star, but the small plates at Zin's and the locally-sourced ingredients were too appealing... More

Went for lunch Jeremy(lost the card with his name on it!) We were meeting after my sister flew in with her daughter from Dallas. We both wanted fresh, tasty food and do not eat meat. No problems here. Great presentations of food! Small sizes so you can experience great sauces and FRESH flavor! We had a younger one that could... More
