One of my favorites

Love the ID. Good beer, good service, good food and giod atmosphere. Fish and chips are always good if you're feeling traditional, Cheese wontons are great if you aren't. -And I can always get cider in tap to quench my thirst. Just a nice cozy pub that's been around as long as I cam remember.

The Irish Democrat is a Cedar Rapids tradition. Used to be awesome. It is typically very busy at lunch and after work - so much so that it is often hard to find a parking spot. That being said, the food is decent enough, the staff is semi-attentive and the price is a bit above par. Too many newer places... More

Had lunch the Saturday of mothers day weekend with my mother in law, grandma and husband. All our food was great, they are out of towners and loved the food. Mother is law is a vegetarian and her veggie sandwich was great. I did not like the table we were sat at. We had an elderly person and a pregnant... More

The place was packed so after a 25 minute wait we were seated. I do not mind waiting if service is good. The food did not come out as quick as other times and to top it off the fries were cold that came with my burger. It was not worth the wait.

They have a variety of dishes here and everything is always very good. They have good pizza, wraps, Burgers and salads. It is a dark place, wish they would remodel the place a little. BUt the food is very good

I came here for a business lunch with a group of 8 people. It's basically a pub with an above average menu of selections. I definitely was pleasantly surprised by the creative menu which included a cheeseburger with bacon, fried egg, and peanut butter (Aussie Burger). Service was very good and the ambiance was a typical pub (dark wood, televisions,... More

My wife and I have been going to the ID for years. It’s one of our favorites because my wife has a food allergy and the waiter/waitresses are very good about conveying that to the cooks. It's “bar food” but they have some specialty items like the Orange Roughy, Mushroom Caps and the Mediterranean Salad that are excellent and rival... More

Probably deserves a 3 if comparing to Minneapolis restaurants, but a 4 if comparing to other restaurants in Cedar Rapids, We stay here occasionally when passing through town. The waitress told us not to order the Italian stuff because it just isn't their forte, so I got the Irish stew (see photo), which was good, not great and a bit... More

The food here was very good. My daughters both raved about their burgers, my husband raved about his tuna steak sandwich, and I really enjoyed my fish & chips. Of course we had to try the cheese wontons, which were tasty as well. The service was quick and friendly. Loved the atmosphere, especially their winter decor.

Went here with a group of basketball parents between games on a Sunday over the noon hour. They really had no interest in our business, which would have been well over $600 for an hour and a half worth of work. They shuffled us into a corner, then never served us. Then, had the audacity to come tell us they... More
