Had pork ribs and honey-bourbon chicken knockers(strips). Both meals very tasty. Good service. Window seat just 100 yards from Mississippi River. Huge restaurant. Fun place. Very casual. Just what we were looking for.

Neat place in former Rock Island Railroad freight house right along big muddy- the Mississippi River. Six of us got dinner and everyone was pleased with the food although it was a little slow in coming. Friendly staff kept the drinks full. Portions were sufficient. Great view out the front.

The restaurant, with views just across the street of the Mississippi River and Great River Bridge, has a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere with some historical aspects to it. The cole slaw truly is the best I have ever eaten, and the prime rib wrap was quite tasty. The quality and price match well. The waitress, Ashlee, was so helpful, positive, fun,... More

A wide variety of menu items, with a decent (I am not a fan of buffets) buffet. We had eight, the service was very good, and everyone was happy with their meals, from Cajun ribeye to catfish, a pasta dish and several buffets (the ribs were better than the chicken, which wasn't very warm. It's a very decent place to... More

We love coming here in the summer and sitting outside on the deck. The water is just a stone throw away. And the view of the Great River Bridge is stunning. We love the chicken strips, the burgers are great and so is the fish. We eat there at least once a week. The service is always great. The owner... More

This was the best shrimp I've ever had. Try the shrimp sampler. Cajun ribeye was also very good. Soup and salad bar was fresh and well stocked. Our server was Kayla. She did a great job, very knowledgable about their menu and remembered everything we asked for. We will definitely eat there again the next time we are in town.... More

If you want something different, with a unique location with a beautiful view of the Mississippi River., this is the place to go. - good food - for bar people, it has a large one - great view of the river - like trains? It is right out the window too - very nice inside. Negatives. I really don't have... More

Way back in the mid 90's I was through Burlington a couple of times and ate at Big Muddy's, and from what I remember, it was excellent. This time around, I would say the service and food were average. The atmosphere is still the same, which is very good, an old railroad freight house tuned restaurant.

I just moved to Burlington, IA and was looking for a good place to eat. My friends and I choose to go to Big Muddy's and we are glad we did! We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by a friendly host and were seated at a wonderful table with a beautiful view of the Mississippi before us. Our... More
