My wife and I have eaten there a number of times over the years, not real regular, but we always knew what to expect each time. It was always good. We were quite diappointed this time. It used to be, when you walked through the door, that smell of fryin' was coming out of the kitchen and those huge homemade... More

Best traditional cafe/greasy spoon in the area. Good food and If you like Maid Rite, and I do, try a Ross burger, a little bit different flavor and I happen to like them better. The crown jewel however is Ross' Magic Mountain, a piece of texas toast, covered with Iowa ground beef, topped with either french fries or hash browns,... More

This place was the "old greasy spoon" when I was in my late childhood. That was nearly 50 years ago. On my recent trip back to my hometown, we stopped in at Ross'. Not much has changed. Most importantly, the food is still good. I was really pleased to see that the menu was filled with locally-grown/raised foodstuffs. The service... More

I came back to the Quad Cities for a wedding and decided to trip down memory lane by stopping at what I remembered as an after hours greasy spoon. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised by the menu and all of the locally grown/raised entrees. I had to have a cup of gazpacho from all heirloom local veggies, delicious! I also... More

My family and I were in from out of town and saw that Ross' had good reviews. We seated ourselves in a booth. A sour-faced, older lady named Regina eventually came over and threw menus and silverware on our table. She left. Then we waited.. and waited. Finally, we saw another waitress motioning to Regina to get back to our... More

the food is always fresh and hot.the taste is fantastic and can only be duplicated by other dive restaurants like this. It's not very clean looking, the seats are not very comfortable, very outdated inside but it is my favorite restaurant in the quad cities great anytime day or night.

I have been there three times and the wait staff seem nice enough. The food is on a downward slope each time I have gone. Really needs updated and a healthier menu.

This place is a classic! The service is great, the people are nice and we had fun. We were too late for the cinnamon rolls, but have had them before, take one home! My sisters had the chicken fried steak which they could not stop raving about, my one sister has to go there for it each time we are... More

Went to Ross' for lunch this past Saturday. Ordered a Rossburger (loose meat sandwich) with coleslaw and fries. The Rossburger was served on one of their homemade buns. I am not a huge fan of loose meat sandwiches, but I have to tell you that the Rossburger is simply excellent and I will be ordering it again on my next... More
