Divey, but in a middle class Hoosier sort of way. Funky Purdue athlete themed sandwiches, with a great view of Breakfast Clubbers moving from the Levee bars to the village bars. Too bad they stopped being open late on the weekends. Too much success? If you went there sober when the bars closed, you could see quite a show. Police... More

Basic grill food, burgers, GREAT milkshakes, malts. Good American breakfasts. This is a must-do for returning visitors. I think it's mostly a concept. Cozy diner and you can sit at the counter. Decent prices.

I always like to try places featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives so my sweet husband surprised me a couple of weekends ago when we (our 3 children and us) were passing through Lafayette on our way to Indianapolis for a dance competition. When we got out of the car, it smelled soooo good and it was really crowded. We... More

We drove by this place several times, thinking that for the advertising it does along the interstate it would be bigger and better looking. Once inside, it's definitely a diner with stool seating. Be ready to sit really close to your fellow diners. The waitress was friendly but our orders weren't quite right; mine was missing a tomato, one kid... More

I took the long way from Chicago Midway Airport to my mother's 90th birthday celebration to hit this place. Looking for old time, interesting and different. This one scores. Got the burger with the peanut butter on it, interesting. I would not have put those two items together but it was fun and good. I had not read things well... More

The root beer was wonderful, the food was great but the way Julie "the cruise director" handled an unreasonable customer was exceptional. Julie was the ultimate professional in dealing with this demanding woman. I would have told her to get lost. If you go to xxx say hi to Julie for us.

Greasy spoon dinner! Atmosphere is old time counter seating, swivel seats and all. Food Breakfast, Burgers and more. We enjoyed our burgers and fries, the people next to us had breakfast and it looked good also. Service was very friendly. We enjoyed this restaurant. Draw backs they didn't sell the grey crew neck sweatshirts. You have to pay cash.

Here's a diner within walking distance to Purdue University. Yes, its nothing fancy but very good sandwiches, breakfast and milkshakes. Triple XXX is part of the student experience and when alumni come back to town, it's one of their stops. They don't take credit cards, so be prepared.

During my 3-year postdoc, I practically made the XXX a home-away-from-home. Great pork tenderloin sandwiches and hamburgers. I was a regular and looked forward to coffee conversations with my friends and locals in the afternoon. It was near Purdue and was very convenient for me. I go back when I visit Purdue, but it isn't the same because my time... More
