I have lived in Lafayette for 8 years and finally went to Triple XXX for lunch. Quite the throwback experience. It was busy, but if you have a sharp eye, people come and go and service is fast, so you can find a stool pretty quickly. On a game day, this statement is probably not very accurate! Very social atmosphere,... More

A must go when you're in the Purdue area. Many of the menu items are named for ex Purdue football/BBall players. If you're feeling adventurous, order the Pervis burger. It's served with a healthy dose of peanut butter. Don't condemn it unless you've tried it. It's a shame it's not open as late as it used to be. It was... More

This place has been featured on television for good reason. Good food, old-fashioned atmosphere. Fine service. Worth a stop and a trip.

We recently spent a week at Purdue for a convention and we more or less stumbled across XXX on our first night in town. By the end of the week we had eaten there seven times! Yes, I know that seems crazy but the food...breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snacks are actually that good. Of course the hamburgers are... More

The Purvis burger is my favorite meal, perhaps in the world, because I've never been able to re-create it at any point. It's delicious...get some onion rings with it, if you know what's good for you.

The wifey and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to stop in when we saw the name while driving down I-65. For starters, this is a cash only establishment. Apparently, they were on the Guy Fieri show, Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins. Not sure which one this qualifies as. It was once a drive in, it sells itself as a diner,... More

While the offerings are pretty standard for a diner, all of the food was well executed, the atmosphere was clean, and our waitress was bubbly, and attentive. That being said, the seating arrangement is a joke. Being crammed onto a corner stool, my meal was spent resting knee to knee with the patron next to me, and our food was... More

Roadside joint, old style counter type restaurant with juicy burgers and crispy French fries. The root beer is icy cold and delicious. Make sure you stop by for the experience if you are in the area. Bring cash as that is all they take. There is an ATM in the building.

If your on the road from Chicago to Indy, or the reverse, on I-65 take a short detour at the W. Lafayette exit, slow down, enjoy the tree lined river drive and cruise up to the XXX Burger. Perfect 1/2 way point to eat and refresh with a cold beverage (Non-alcoholic). Excellent Burgers and Fries will nourish you and coat your... More

If you're visiting Purdue and want to eat at one of the oldest and most well-known establishments, you need to eat at Triple X. They have eggcellent breakfast options and their root beer is the greatest these lips have tasted. Traditional diner style and the service is usually fast. Great stop before or after a Purdue football game.
