This was a local favorite of ours, particularly for lunch -- but unfortunately it closed a few weeks ago. We hear that Chef Nicole Bissonnette-Sanders may open a new eatery in the area, so stay tuned.

The meal was good, but the service was horrible. It is a crowded, noisy little place with the bar right along side the diners. Our elderly male server acted as if he were doing us a favor by serving us - never gave us the specials, never asked if we enjoyed the meal and didn't ask us if it were... More

This converted retail shop on the main drag in Valparaiso's small downtown offers a fresh and changing menu of contemporary American cooking. We've eaten there a number of times and have always had the same very satisfying experience. It is a large open room so along with the dining there is the bar scene. This actually adds to the ambience.... More

My husband and I went to celebrate Valentines Day and were treated to a fantastic meal. This is has been my favorite special occasion "go to" restaurant since we moved to this area three years ago and we've never been disappointed. The food offered is delicious and creative in its conception, execution and presentation. The wine list is excellent and... More

We ate outside on a lovely warm day. I had the cheese plate and was happy I did. A nice variety of cheeses and the fig purée was terrific.

Went to Bistro 157 for my birthday dinner. I have to say, it's been a long time since I've been to a restaurant this good. The bread and butter/garlic was very tasty. Extensive wine list, with reasonably priced beers. I started with the Caesar salad (no anchovies), and I have to say...the croutons sold it for me (absolutely amazing!!). The... More

A Thursday night trip to downtown Valparaiso brought us to Bistro 157. Around 5pm, it is nearly vacant but it picks up and fills up around 6:15. The waiter was very good and super attentive. I had the white fish and wife had the duck. Both were good and filling. for $7 per glass, they give you a great pour... More

We picked this restaurant because we wanted to sit outside on a beautiful day. My husband had the braised beef sandwich. It came with a horseradish dip that he really liked. I ordered the 3 course lunch special which included French onion soup, angel hair pasta with chicken and 3 small dessert samples. The portions were large enough to take... More
