Don Quijote Restaurant, the heart of Spain in the heart of Valparaiso. We have been ahead of the "Tapas" trend for the last 26 years!! Serving Spanish cuisine since 1985 and featuring over two dozen different tapas, including, Octopus, Galician style meat pastries and the traditional "Tortilla Espanola", Spanish potato omelet. Our menu doesn"t stop there, but goes on to feature an array of tantalizing entrees, from fresh seafood, like Swordfish and Salmon to succulent Castilian style roast Lamb. The food is sure to please and fortify any traveler who might be roming the countryside. The National dish of Spain is the Paella, and we offer four different versions: Marinera, Vegetarian, Black and Valenciana. Delicious Homemade desserts round out our extensive menu. Our decor, complete with street lamps an a fountain, will transport you, to any out door cafe in Spain. "INDIANA'S ONLY SPANISH RESTAURANT"

I love tapas and this restaurant is an expert in tapas. Wonderful service and terrific, authentic Spanish food. You can't go wrong. A great place to have dinner with friends.

I have eaten at this establishment 6-10 times over the course of a few years. However, I have not returned in almost 1 year. The food was good. It was not exceptional. I would still most likely make a night of it occasionally but was offended by the behavior of one of the owners towards my girlfriend and I. She... More

The food here is really good and so is their Sangria. Stopped in on my wife's birthday as we drove through town. Commented to the waiter that we were eating light because we were going out in the evening for my wife's birthday. After we finished the lunch, they brought us birthday dessert with a delicious apple dish and two... More

We used a group on coupon & ordered limonada ( similar to white wine sangria) & were not impressed. Especially didn't like the cinammon, but drink was very bland. We ordered 4 tapas which were fair. Too much onion in the tortilla a la española for my taste. The albóndigas (meatballs) were tasty, but nothing spectacular. The Patatas Ali-oli are... More

A delicious meal for appetizers to dessert. We went with another couple and all 4 of us enjoyed every bite. We all had different dishes and shared them. Everything was wonderful. Many Spanish dishes we had never tried before. We can all hardly wait to go back. We are also sorry we didn't dine here before.

I love Spanish affair and tapas. I was most disappointed at dinner last night. My paella was tasteless and my wife's pork skewer was dry and overlooked. This place has been a benchmark for years. I feel they are living on their past laurels. My wife had never been their before. Will not be going back. Tapas Cafe in Merrillville... More

If you are looking for a change from the normal try this. Located in downtown Valpo and the owner will even make sure you are satisfied. I am not shy about trying new selections and the options are a real taste bud sensation. My choice was a paella. Price a little above the average. Enoy

You'll always be greeted and treated warmly in this fine Spanish restaurant and the food is lovingly made and authentic. In fact, it's often much better than we've eaten inn Spain.

We decided to try this restuarant on a whim and were so glad we tried it. The food and service were terrific. Jessica was so friendly and explained all the dishes so well and answered all our questions. We ended up trying the appitizer combo and the dinner combo so that we could try more items. So glad we did... More
