Margaritas is one of two "go-to" Mexican joints in a town with many options (Serrano's being the other). The Margarita Special and the Gorditas are really great options. The vibe in the little shotgun restaurant is neat, clean, and inviting.

Overnight stay in Valpo and we found our way downtown. There is a cluster of small restaurants on Lincolnway (old US 30), and the town has maintained its charm from the days before interstate highways. We tried Margarita's on a Wednesday night and had a pleasant experience. We ordered the fish tacos and taco dinner w/ground beef and enjoyed the... More

food is ok, typical Mexican type fare, but the drinks are great! Service was very good also. We were there for dinner. Both of us were happy with our choices.

My family does a lot of Mexican cuisine and i have spent time in a non-tourist, rural area in Mexico where I had home cooked food made for me....so I am a Mexican food snob, lol. Margaritas has all your basics...and I can't say it the "best" but it is pretty good as far as Americanized Mexican food goes. The... More

Saturday afternoon, was looking for a quick lunch with family. 1. Off to a bad start- took 10 minutes to be seated in a 75% empty restaurant. 2. Poor service overall and my beer arrived 20 minutes after being seated. Food took another 40 mts to arrive. Was a point to walk away after the beer. 3. The chicken in... More

The food was below average for Mexican. Much better options in Valpo... Casa del Mar, La Cabana, El Salto's all have the food beat. Service was OK. The only pluses are that it's downtown and sometime has live music.

I had the pkeasure of eating in this restaurant twice whilst staying with relatives. On the first occasion I tried the mini burritto with a Mrs Arnold Palmer and both were selicious. On the second occasion we dined on the Thursday evening when its busy with the eat up wine down promotion and can say that the tacos and white... More

Great little restaurant on the square in downtown Valpo. Salsa was good, always an indication of how good food is. Margaritas were just ok, but Gaucamole was excellent. Tacos, Enchiladas were a little spicy for kids, burrito was huge and Carne Asada was very good. Service was excellent.

For a place called Margaritas, you'd expect the Margaritas would be fantastic. We were very disappointed. They have many Margarita flavors to choose from, and they are all equally bland, on the rocks or frozen. I tried a few, hoping I'd hit a winner. They are far from the flavorful stronger Margaritas we are accustom to enjoying from our hometown... More

Chips homemade, salas great kick to it! Ordered steak tacos were fabulous and very filling! Combos great, rice and beans yummy! Enchiladas were very tasty. Our table might have had almost everything on the menus all great! They have a great bar, kid friendly
