If you are a lover of fried catfish, this is a place certainly worthy of a visit. We have visited 3 times and have yet to be disappointed. Although it is a 40 mile trip from our house, we take a trip through the country and enjoy the scenery. It is a nice place to sit and eat your food,... More

When your the only dog in town I guess you can be considered the best, overpriced for average food. Your better off heading about 20 miles further north to Lafayette to find better prices and better food, just saying!

I have eaten here numerous times and have yet to have a bad meal. I love the crab cakes and the Friday home style buffet. Very friendly and great food.

Great fried catfish dinners, 1, 2, or 3 piece. Wonderful fried onion blocks as a side order. Stookeys also has a $9.99 all you can eat special on Wednesdays and a very good luncheon buffet as well as sandwiches and salads. Seems to always have a long waiting line to get in at dinner. We have been there many times... More

Nice old but classy restaurant that attracts a lot of locals. Great stake and service but you have to try the onions rings- To Die For!

Stookey's has excellent customer service. I was surprised by the size of this restaurant as it was larger than I expected for a small town. The staff was wonderful and did all they could to accommodate us. We happened to be there at the same time as a very large group and because of that our service was delayed. We... More

Stookey's is known for their catfish and onion rings. They also have a great vinegar based slaw that is outstanding. The catfish was not greasy and the onion rings were great!!!

If you want the best of the best eat at stookey's.. Live 90 mile away and go every chance I can. You will not find better catfish, onions and other great food.

The locals here rave about this restaurant the the fried catfish, so we tried it. Overall we were not impressed. The portions were generous and the fries were good. But the catfish was very ordinary. For a small town restaurant the prices are higher than most places. There are better choices if you want to drive.
