While visiting the ND Christmas show, we wanted to try an authentic Irish Pub, not one of those close to campus wanna-bes. We arrived at 8PM on a Saturday night and found this downtown pub to be inviting and friendly. We were greeted promptly and invited to sit where we could watch the folk singers who started at 9PM. We... More

We went to Fiddler's Hearth for my step daughters birthday. The food was okay but nothing great to make me rush back. The service was on the slow side. I would say maybe a place to experience once but again not somewhere I would rush to go back to.

We went with friends for a birthday celebration for three of us in the group. No one in the group had been here before. Some enjoyed it. I did not. Fried dill pickles were acceptable but just barely. I do not recommend the Salmon of Wisdom. I was intrigued by the name but should have known better than to get... More

Good times to be had at Fiddler's Hearth! Good craft beer selection, the food is very good. Fish and Chips served in newspaper and good sized portions. Dessert of flourless chocolate cake is great for the gluten free crowd, is beautifully served, and as rich and dense as a piece of fudge. There are games on the shelves, frequent musical... More

Good food i an old Irish atmosphere pub. Seating was very open and country style. Great wall items for your on-going conversations.

Fiddler's Hearth is the closest thing to a real Irish pub you'll find in South Bend. There's communal seating and tables are quite close together. Fiddler's fish and chips are the best in town and are served in a wrapping of newspaper. Visit on a night when there's live music - usually Celtic or folk-style music. It's a fun atmosphere,... My family visited Fiddler's Hearth Public House on October 4th. We had been tailgating at the Notre Dame vs. Stanford game and were looking for a place off campus to eat and drink. The Fiddler's Hearth exceeded our expectations for both. The menu is extensive and the beer-beverage selections were fabulous. It was warm and cozy being able to sit... More

Fiddler's is as authentic an Irish experience as one should expect near the home of the Irish. South Bend doesn't often live up to the nick name of its primary raison d'etre, Universtiy of Notre Dame, however Fiddler's makes up for that. The pub serves excellent Celtic fare like scotch eggs, Shepherd's Pie and Fish n Chips served in newsprint.... More

Fiddled' s is a tradition for us. Great beer selection and good honest Irish food. Try the policeman' s plate as a appetizer or a lunch plate.

Reasonable prices. Very popular, so you might have to share family style table. Most everything was $10. Looks like they have music every evening. Don't miss it.
