On past visits, I’ve given Café Navarre highly positive ratings, but the restaurant got excessively greedy with their Mother’s Day menu. The extremely scaled down menu offered only four rather overpriced entrees, a chicken, fish, lamb and sirloin steak, and then a few breakfast items. Two of our guests ordered the omelet which was priced at $15.00. What arrived was... More

I like this restaurant a lot but don't always like their menu selections. If you are fussy you may want to call ahead The service staff is excellent and the atmosphere is lovely. You can also get a private room I think you will enjoy your experience here.

We usually go here for a more upscale evening, as it is fairly expensive. It's a fun place with good food. It is expensive especially for students but we have gone for restaurant week and other times for a nice date. Good for families with older children, students with parents, and definitely dates. The duck is delicious as is the... More

The décor seems nice and our waitress was very friendly (I can't remember her name), but I watched the owner berate some customers over some kind of Duck liver dish (which sounds dreadfully disgusting). I would positively say stay away from this establishment!!

We had the walleye which was great. Service is is also top notch. Nice spot right downtown South Bend. It was a jewelry store (VanHorne Jewelers). The building has a lot of character. You will not be disappointed.

Would have got 5 stars but two in our party had the mushroom soup which tasted great but didn't sit so well in the tummy. Both had upset stomachs the next day and we figured that's what they both ate in common. On the plus side, shrimp and tagliatelle was a light and tasty dish. Generous serving of large and... More

Had cocktails and apps before taking in a show. Bar staff was very courteous and friendly. Appetizers were fresh, martini's were flowing. Stayed so long, were almost late for our show.
