This place has a great breakfast buffet with a lot of options and if you leave here hungry then something is wrong with you and you should see a doctor. I found the bakery and gift shop around the side very nice also and the cake, pie, donut and other pastries options are incredible. You'll have lots to chose from... More

We actually enjoyed our visit to this restaurant! I read reviews ahead of time but we had been next door to the Hitching Post and decided to give it a try. It was very clean, all of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our server was delightful. We opted for menu service instead of the buffet, I saw it... More

Great place to eat following a delightful play at the Blue Gate Theater. Bountiful menu and servings of typical Amish foods.

Food was good for the most part, I had the Amish Pot Roast it was really good, the "chicken dressing" wasn't what I was expecting and I didn't care for it. My sister had the meatloaf and said it was "ok".

Had an excellent meal after a day of shopping at flea market. The roast beef was very moist and the mashed potatoes were good. Maybe the best part of the meal though was the bread and peanut butter that they bring to you before your meal. Best peanut butter ever. Had breakfast buffet the next morning which was good and... We love to stop here to eat. It was around 1p.m & was VERY busy with a wait of about 1/2 hr. They have an area where you can order off the menu, & another area for buffet. We ordered off the menu. The food is good & tastes like homemade. You get fresh, warm bread with your meal, along... More

Mainly appearing as a more touristy place, the Blue Gate, from personal experience does offer traditional American fare, and primarily Amish themed foods. I can say that the sandwiches are very good, as well as the baked goods. Not sure about the breakfasts and dinners, but what I have had has been tasty. There is a theater above the restaraunt... Blue Gate has great food. We have done the package deal twice which includes the play and family-style dinner. They never disappoint. All you can eat including pie.
