We had breakfast in this small diner while visiting family in Richmond. The eggs and omelets were delicious and the biscuits homemade quality. Service was fast and friendly with a never ending cup of coffee. A great place for breakfast or lunch.

We like local places with some history and character so the Main Street Diner seemed like the place. When we arrived the booths were full, but 2 had dishes from the previous diners that had left. The guy behind the counter said to have a seat and he would clean the table off. Took him about 5 minutes to get... More

Relatively limited hours but a great and cozy place to grab brunch. Definitely order the potatoes with your breakfast.

Prices are reasonable, has a cozy atmosphere, with very friendly staff and it's all you would expect from a mom and pop diner! I highly recommend it.

I highly recommend the Main Street Diner for its food (I had their delicious sweet potato pancakes), atmosphere, service, and prices--they got each of these necessary and sufficient factors for considering eating there Right!

For years, this was Alsop's Grill. Often, there was a sign in the window for short order cook. I figured I'd be able to work there because I was short and I could cook. My parents and I never ventured into the place, nor did we go to Elizabeth Parker's a few doors down. Times change and Elizabeth Parker's is... More

We tried to eat here. After arriving and walking around the side of the building we see a sign that says "under new management" and they now close at 2:00pm, it was 2:30. Wish we had known they have such short hours.

Neat, small (very) classic dinner, a bar and several booths. Food was wonderful, I had huge open face roast beef manhattan -delicious and tried their homemade banana nut bread - scrumptious. New local owners are very friendly and attentive.

We were back to check out the new, improved Main St. Diner under new ownership. We had heard that they were big into farmer's market food and fresh foods served in interesting ways. What a disappointment! It was the same fare as before. Some additions to the decor and a cleanup make it look promising upon entering. Their touted breakfast,... More

Main Street Diner is ridiculously affordable and has amazing food. Their homemade corned beef hash is far and away the best I've ever had. They also have very interesting foods such as sweet potato pancakes and lobster omelets (as an occasional daily special). I went there all the time when I lived in Richmond, and I miss it so much...
