Yes. It is next to a gas station. Yes. It is next to a truck stop. Yes. There's also a Taco Bell there. No. It's not nasty and trashy. This must have been the tastiest, most genuine Italian home-made food I have ever eaten in my whole life. The place is small and cozy but you can notice how people... More

I consider myself a fair authority on Italian food. I worked for Italians in Las Vegas for years and my job was to teach their Sicilian mothers English. All that happened was I learned to speak Italian and cook. The mothers were stubborn ladies that insisted on high quality food, pasta made in Italy (because of the water there) and... More

The location may be odd (it's in a bldg with a gas station, next to a truck stop), but being as my husband is a truck driver I'm extremely pleased that it's next to a truck stop as many times good food is very hard to find, let alone GREAT food. Whenever we are headed to Ft. Wayne we make... More

The food is great and the service very quick. The location has something to be desired in that it is attached to a gas station. Still great food.

I was very skeptical to eat there my first time when it was only the New Haven location however I was very pleasantly surprised. The food is amazing. The baked penne is what I order everytime and it is one of the many things that keeps me coming back. Not only is the food great but the service is awesome... More

they have some of the best baked spaghetti around. The serving is large, enough for 2 people. We take half home, and have it again the next day. Really delicious.

Was staying at the Holiday Inn Express nearby, and not a whole lot of restaurant options in the vicinity. Luckily, a local told me to try Salvatori's because otherwise I never would have known it was there. It is nestled into a shared building with gas station / Taco Bell / truck stop and doesn't look like much. But the... More

Whether eating in or carry out Salatories in New Haven (East) has never done me wrong. Excellent food, great staff. The West store is more "eat in " appropriate due to more room (more spacious w/ bar) but with same great food.

From the outside, you may even wonder if you want to venture inside. It is sharing a building with a gas station, and not in a location that would generally invite fabulous food options. This is the exception. Go out of your way to eat here. There is very limited seating inside, but it is worth the wait. Everything from... More
