Although you didn't have to, we dressed up for a romantic birthday dinner when the restaurant offered a candlelight and gaslight Victorian dinner. The staff dressed in period outfits and the piano player even wore a top hat while playing holiday music, much of it from the Nutcracker! We arrived a bit early for our 6:30 reservation but were seated... More

My husband and I made a reservation at the Story Inn to celebrate the end of my cancer treatment. The staff was so genuinely kind and took care of their tables to a degree that you would expect from a high end restaurant in the city. They were so spectacular that they even gifted us a bottle of wine in... More

What an eight mile scenic drive from Nashville you can enjoy going to Story . Both breakfast and lunch menus were available which made the decision even more challenging. We really liked the apple butter but found the biscuits to be on the "dense" side to be as enjoyable as we had wished. Perhaps it was better for our waistlines... More

My wife and I eat at the Store Inn every year when we visit Nashville, IN. This year was no different. The Story Inn is about 30 minutes out of Nashville...but it is worth it. The menu changes so don't expect to see the same items at the restaurant that are listed on the website. That said, whatever is being... More

The drive to this place is beautiful. I really like the area. The building itself is very neat. We had a drink downstairs in the bar and ate diner upstairs. The food was good but pricey. I would suggest breakfast if you are not wanting to spend too much. That menu had much lower prices.

Story serves wonderful omelets from 9 to 2:30. I can also recommend the corn chowder for lunch and both the handcut angus steak and scallops for dinner.

We go to Story Inn every Fall when we are camping with our horses at Brown County State Park - the best in the country! Although we only ride our horses there on the weekends to listen to music and have some drinks and lunch, the atmosphere does not get any better than this! If it is a nice day... More

I have been going to Story to eat over 30 years and there have always been ups and downs but the ups has always been much greater than the downs which keeps me coming back. On this trip, I was with 5 of my friends and those who ordered the pork chops found them to be a bit dry but... More

Don't stay at STORY - our visit was a fouled up mess from the start and only got worse after that. While the room was nice, it was terribly over-priced, and there were no linens or pillows for the extra sleeper. The dinner was a total rip-off. The main reason we decided to stay in Story was to get "the... More

This is a one-of-a-kind restaurant in rural Brown County, Indiana. The setting is relaxing and guests are treated as if they are VIP's. The food is top notch. It is not just a meal. The entire experience, including the lovely drive out, is well worth it. Before or after the meal, make sure you stroll through the gardens and property... More
