I visited The Story Inn on a recent trip to Indiana, it was highly recommended by a friend who ate there 10 years ago. The place is 10 miles from the main highway on a narrow two lane state road. As you travel down the road you keep saying this place is in the middle of nowhere. What a pleasant... More

Hello Mac, Thank you for your review, and making the trip to visit Story. We typically pride ourselves on our locally raised, house smoked pork, but we clearly missed the mark this time. I apologize for the subpar meal you received, and look forward to redeeming ourselves on your next visit. Please feel contacting me directly prior to your next... More

We were biking the back roads of Brown County and stumbled upon Story. We got The Best Breakfast Sandwich and Grilled Artichoke Sandwich. Both were excellent. Our only complaint was it was very cold in the restaurant, although we were wet from biking 20+ miles in 90*weather.

We visited The Story Inn on the 4th of July. We had a group of 11 which was not a problem at all. We only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated. The restaurant upstairs in really neat, the downstairs bar was packed and a little stuffy. We got our food quickly and it was all pretty good.... More

We rode here on the motorcycle, great scenery. The restaurant is in an old, refurbished General store. Our lunch was very good. I had the grilled artichoke sandwich, hubby had tenderloin. Both came with generous serving of fresh, hot fries, and slaw. Interior is decorated with lots of old time memorabilia, yet the tables are set with cloth napkins, real... More

You can't beat the Story Inn for ambience. An ancient grocery store transformed into an ancient feeling restaurant. It is set in the country, has tons of outdoor (and indoor) seating and a diverse group of patrons, from foodies to folks on horseback and motorcycles. For a long time it was our favorite restaurant, but then got inconsistent. Eventually we... More

Rode over from Brown County Horse Camp. We were there Memorial Day weekend. They had live entertainment which was very good . The singer sounded just like Johnny Cash. When we first road in we thought they were playing Johnny Cash on a stereo system but soon found the gentleman singing. The Horse area was very crowded and the wait... More

Our beautiful weekend away in Brown County had LOTS on the itinerary to do, but highlighted on our list of things to see was The Story Inn. We were extremely excited about visiting a place with such a great history, and found that the journey there was just as interesting! The landscape for our drive was filled with twists and... More

The Story Inn is a wonderful place for couples, business, solo, or even family. It is located right on State highway 135 south in beautiful Brown County, they have a nice wine selection along with beer on tap(or in the bottle) the Inn is right behind Brow County State Park. If your a horse man/woman there's trails from Brown County... More

My husband and I came here upon an area business owner's recommendation. We didn't have reservations but luckily it was a slow weeknight. That being said, our waitress said there are nights they may close if it's slow and they don't have any reservations so keep that in mind! The location/atmosphere is worth the visit. The entire little town is... More
