Quaint..feels like home. You can really smell the sassafras when you walk in and then you can indulge in some sassafras tea upstairs in the dining room. On your way out in their country store, you can purchase it to make at home.

You can't eat here and not try the fied chicken and fried biscuits with apple butter. This is an Indiana tradition.A farmhouse atmosphere with a lot of good comfort foods. Service is good and friendly. I never have room for dessert.

We recently tried to arrange to meet friends and have dinner at the Nashville House restaurant. We checked the website for the days & hours of operation. It indicated that they would be open that evening. To be sure, my husband called mid-afternoon of the day we were to go. He was told on the phone that "their last group... More

The food here is always consistently good. I go for the 1/4 fried chicken special...always. It is the best fried chicken anywhere. However, the sides are, well, canned green beans and mashed potatoes. But, come for the fresh fried biscuits and apple butter, stay for the chicken and head outside for ice cream for dessert.

My family has been going to the Nashville House since the mid 70's. The food has always been good. Our favorite waitress is Wilma, she has been waiting on us since she was a young teenager and has always been friendly and one of the reasons we keep coming back and introducing our friends to this awesome place.

My grandparents made this a tradition when my father was a child, I continue it with my grandchildren. We do eat in the restaurant occasionally, but usually just pop in for biscuits and apple butter. The turkey and chicken dinners are filling and good but overpriced in my opinion. Sassafras tea is offered iced or hot. People say their cole... More

This is a really cool place to look around in. We decided to give the restaurant a try this time. Me and my wife both got the roast beef and we thought it was just okay. Our daughter and her boyfriend got the fried chicken. The skin was rather hard and seemed to be cooked in old oil. They said... More

We made our annual trip to Brown County and Nashville with our 4 grand kids. They would not miss our dinner at the Nashville House. Fried biscuits and apple butter are not to be missed. Country fried chicken is delicious with all the fixin's. This place is always on our list when in Nashville.

We have been eating here for 40+ years on special occasions. It went through some ownership changes I think, but seems to be what we always loved - the uniquely flavored slaw, the delicious fried chicken, & the awesome fried biscuits & apple butter that others try to imitate. Unfortunately the health dept. doesn't let them make the sassafras tea... More
