Just not what it used to be

Visited on Saturday, the first warm sunny day of the year. People were out in droves, but surprisingly, not at the Nashville House. The fried biscuits and slaw were good, but not mouth watering. The fried chicken was overcooked and dry. This restaurant 30 years ago was the star attraction in... read more

We've ordered fried chicken and biscuits to go from here a few times on our way home to Indy, but my mom and I just ate at the restaurant for the first time in a long time. It seemed pricey however we were able to split the fried chicken dinner and still have plenty of food. Everything was delicious, especially... More

This place charges 20. For lunch of canned food! Seriously, #10 canned vegetables slopped on the plate leaving everything else swimming. I complained and said it was the worse meal ever. She smiled replied with "I get that all the time"

I was told that this place is so crowded in the summer time that there's a long line to get in. We were there off season so it wasn't bad at all. The place is lovely and rustic and the food was really good. However, while the service was good, it could use some improving. Our server banged everything down... More

Very courteous and friendly staff ! The staff went above and beyond to accomidate our autistic granddaughter , and the food was tasty, generously portioned, and very reasonably priced! The ONLY bad thing I could say would be ; it's high time the decor was updated.

You know from the review it is all over the place- but, our experience was not good- had a wait a long time for our food and way overpriced for chicken dinner. We left hunky and broke. Since we go to Nashville on a regular bases - and will be buying a home their , this would not be a... More

The Nashville House has been one of the mainstays in Nashville, Indiana since Noah got off the Ark. The fried biscuits and fried chicken are wonderful but this old style "home cookin'" doesn't come cheap. The menu is basically what grandma used to cook (unless you are Italian).

Shared a lunch special with my spouse. Plenty of food for the two of us. The biscuits and apple butter are great. Will eat there next time we are in Nashville.

Nashville House is known as an institution in rustic Nashville over the decades. We have been there repeatedly over the past 5 decades and 3 generations; the last two visits were therefore a disappointment. They rely too much on their reputation (comfort food); don't do that as well as they used to, and don't appear to have added anything to... More

We stopped by for lunch on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Nashville was busy, but the restaurant was about half full. We waited one hour for four ham and cheese sandwiches on plain white bread. They were good, but at $14 a pop for a ham sandwich, I should be writing songs about them. We saw our grumpy waitress four or... More
