Not as good as I remembered

I was here 10 years ago and it was awesome food. This time the homemade biscuit's and apple butter were as awesome as I remembered but the rest of the food was just OK. $15 for a lunch that tasted like it came out of cans and was re-heated. The coleslaw is different (lots of mayo, not sweet... read more

There's a good reason there's a line to get in here-the place is wonderful! The fried biscuits, sassafrass tea, ham and country fried chicken are country delights not to be missed. The non-sweet coleslaw is the best I ever had. The heavy ceiling beams, rustic furnishings and checked tablecloths and antiques add to the homey atmosphere. You can enjoy shopping... More

We were a little disappointed with the general store. It didn't seem to have as much merchandise as we remembered from a few years ago. We ate in the restaurant and were very disappointed. My husband order their ham sandwich, which they said was a specialty for them, and while the flavor was good, it was not very generous. I... More

We stopped in here for a Saturday lunch/dinner. The apple butter and the fried biscuits that they give you are awesome. There are only a handful of items on the menu. The food was drastically overpriced. I ordered a ham and cheese and my wife ordered a chicken salad. $26 for those is really over priced. Will not return.

Quaint..feels like home. You can really smell the sassafras when you walk in and then you can indulge in some sassafras tea upstairs in the dining room. On your way out in their country store, you can purchase it to make at home.

Nothing special about this place… The chicken was recommended it was average I would say at best… Didn't care for the gravy on the mashed potatoes it was more like breakfast gravy.green beans were good, Apple butter was good. Didn't really like the rolls.no alcohol is served at this restaurant was kind of hoping for some wine after a day... More

You can't eat here and not try the fied chicken and fried biscuits with apple butter. This is an Indiana tradition.A farmhouse atmosphere with a lot of good comfort foods. Service is good and friendly. I never have room for dessert.

We recently tried to arrange to meet friends and have dinner at the Nashville House restaurant. We checked the website for the days & hours of operation. It indicated that they would be open that evening. To be sure, my husband called mid-afternoon of the day we were to go. He was told on the phone that "their last group... More

The food here is always consistently good. I go for the 1/4 fried chicken special...always. It is the best fried chicken anywhere. However, the sides are, well, canned green beans and mashed potatoes. But, come for the fresh fried biscuits and apple butter, stay for the chicken and head outside for ice cream for dessert.
