I was in Muncie, Indiana and my co-worker suggested dining at Sitara. I have visited India several times and I have also dined at excellent Indian restaurants in Chicago and Sydney, Australia. I did not have high expectations for an Indian restaurant in Muncie and I was very pleasantly surprised. The tandoori chicken that I chose for diner was excellent... More

Normally we eat Indian food in Indianapolis, but thought we would try Sitara Indian restaurant in Muncie, Indiana. Daily lunch buffet. Good selection including tandoori chicken, favorite naan bread, and other favorites. Spicy noodles were also a treat. The food was not overly spicy, just right. If you are in the area have lunch at Sitara.

I prefer the menu but the buffet is a good choice if you want to try a few different items. Owner and wife are always present.

For many years, Muncie didn't have an Indian restaurant despite having a representative Indian community (mostly at the University or in the medical community). When Sitara came to town, the problem was solved. The food is authentic and as good as you will find at the best Indian restaurants in Indianapolis. The owners (husband and wife) are always there when... More

I am going to start out by saying I am not a fine connoisseur of Indian cuisine and it is not something I am extremely familiar with. What I can say is my family and I often reminisce about a metal we ate 15 years ago at an Indian restaurant in New York City. Ever since then we (my family... More

This is not a large place and the buffet is not large, but the variety of great food is a real treat. Food, service and decor are all very good. Pricing is reasonable. We will return again for sure.

I visit Indian restaurants when given a chance and lived in an Indian-majority country for a number of years. This is easily as good as any I have every tried. I don't know what the secret is, but I suspect that the spices and vegetables are about as fresh as it gets. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love Sitara. Great atmosphere and staff. The owner is always visible and is incredibly welcoming. The food is always delicious; I have never been disappointed with what I've ordered. The buffet is small, but I would recommend it to those who want to give Indian cuisine a try, as it is slightly cheaper than ordering off the menu... More

And do not bother with the lunch buffet. We have several superb Indian buffets in St. Louis and this one suffers by comparison. It was really small and did not have a great variety of dishes to try. The ones they did have were very bland and under spiced. I would go back but I would go back at night... More

The owner and staff worked with our kids to hand pick a meal for them. They enjoyed the meal - and one is a pretty picky eater. A little pricy, but good. Nice atmosphere.
