This beautiful country restaurant has two sides to it: one side serves all you can eat and the other side is order from the menu but they share the same kitchen and the same food is served on both sides. I have eaten on both sides but when I'm really hungry, I go for all you can eat. This is... More

If you want to watch your calories, this is not the place for you. BUT if you want a glimpse into the Pennsylvania Dutch foods that sustain hard working farm families, don't miss it! Both the menu and the buffet include traditional farm foods -- chicken, beef, noodles, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, and lots of salads like cole slaw, macaroni... More

If “quantity” of food is more important to you than “quality” then order from the "all you can eat” buffet. The buffet is good but because it can sit out in the open for long periods of time it’s more typical of cafeteria style food. You can order more contemporary meals but I'd recommend ordering meals with an Amish background... More

The food is always delicious and the service is friendly and efficient. It's so hard to choose what to have for dessert, we always end up buying a pie to take with us!

The boyfriend had been raving about this place, the family goes every time his brother comes home for a visit, and as it was my first visit to Indiana and meeting the family, they had to take me to Essenhaus. As there were five of us eating, we decided to go for the buffet option so that we could get... More

Went here for breakfast, and had a very good meal. Simple, standard breakfast fare with a few different dishes (head cheese and fried mush, anyone?). The scrambles are very good, and the omelets are too. I've had the buffet, and it's good but pretty bland. The shopping is always fun here too.

If you eat chicken then your good. I don't so it was a little difficult to find vegetarian dish that I could order. Settled on vegetable plate, was ok but just steamed veggies. Service in main dining (menu not buffet) was very good. Overall an experience that should be tried at least once. Restaurant amid an Amish shopping mall. Have... More

I have lived near Essenhaus almost all my life and have gone there frequently. It is well known attraction with beautiful buildings, businesses, and countryside surrounding it. Bus loads come here on their way to Shipshewana auctions and flea markets. It is a very popular place. The bakery, gift shop and other shops are very well kept, and inviting. I... More

I am from Hawaii, and I was visiting Indiana for a wedding. My boyfriend's family took us here a couple of days after the wedding, and the food was amazing! It was so fresh and rich in flavors. The staff is so polite. A week in Indiana, including coming to this place, made me want to move to Indiana next... More
