Good prices, good food.

You have a choice of buffet, menu or family style dining, which determines where you sit. The potato salad and cole slaw were both creamy and excellent. The sweet potatoes and chicken were too dry to rave about. The bread was nothing to brag about - same as you'd get at any economy restaurant... read more

We have been going to Das Dutchman Essenhaus for years. Whenever we have guests visit our home from out of state we take them there for a great meal and a visit to their Inn and shops. Always a great meal and invariably end up taking home their wonderful bakery items. You won't be disappointed!!!

We came here for lunch, seated right away and got the buffet. Options were lacking on meats and no desserts. Salad options were average. Tried the broasted chicken and pot roast. Chicken was done right but little flavor. Pot roast was very dry. The only side with much taste was the Mac & cheese, corn was terrible very salty(had better... More

Stopped in for the breakfast buffet. We had no problem being seated immediately .Wait staff was pleasant. Kept our coffee cups full. It was a little pricey at $8.99 for breakfast. That does not include a beverage. Food was good. A lot of choices, including my favorite fried mush. It was a nice treat but too expensive for an every... More

On a previous visit with my friends in Indiana, we had planned to go to Essenhaus...however, one friend landed in Emergency room and we had to postpone our visit....I asked another friend what we would have eaten if we had gone - and by time she got through describing the food - I could not wait for our visit..The next... Have been to many Amish buffet restaurants and this one is middle of the pack. Not the best and not the worse. Enjoyed the chicken and roast beef. The salad bar had 2 cream type of desserts. Cold sides were not appealing visually. Rolls were very good.

The food was good, but very very bland. Almost every restaurant in the area serves the same exact food. Broasted Chicken, Braised Roast, Mashed Potatoes, Dressing, Gravy Green Beans, Corn. After 2 weeks of this I was way beyond over it.

Stopped here in 2011 and that's why we returned. The food was just as good, however we had a big breakfast and didn't want the buffet. To our surprise they have a separate room for people that just need a light lunch. The food was very good and came out quickly. The wife had a cheeseburger and I had the porckchop... More

Stopped at the bakery to pick up a coconut cream pie and it was wonderful. Very fresh, not to sweet and not to much coconut. Price was decent for a whole pie of 11.95 a pie.

The buffet there is wonderful. Best Broccoli soup I have ever had!! Take your appetite with you, there are so many choices on the buffet. The chicken is moist and tasty. Very busy, but got seating quickly. Check out the bakery before you leave and pick up a pie. Yum
