Family style service with a smile and perfect pie...oh my!

This was our 1st visit but it wont be our last. The chicken was sooooo good and we also liked the tender steak. Of course, there are to die for rolls and some very good sides. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like homemade. The only item I didn't care for was glumpy stuffing/dressing. Our... read more

Our family has been the the Essenhaus too many times to count. Everything is always wonderful. Be sure and visit the bakery there too. The little stores are there have unique gifts. The german chocolate pie is my favorite pie. Don't forget pie!

Don't know what we were most disappointed with. The Bland food or the really bad service. We went with the buffet. We were seated within 15 min. But it took our server longer than that to get around to us. We even considered leaving at that point. Finally he came and took our drink order. Not very friendly at all.... More

This place is awesome! And they have a great buffet! The Mac and cheese is really good. And the chicken is good. And if your a dessert person. You should try this when your coming, going, or staying in upper Indiana!

Nice friendly staff and good old fashioned family style food. We ordered off the menu and were very happy with our meals, no room for desert though, I think I will order desert first on our next stop, it looks too good to pass up !

My family went for the buffet option. the food was pretty good, but not outstanding. The broasted chicken was notably good. The other choices at the buffet were so-so. If you get the buffet option, you are limited to the desserts that are on the buffet, so if dessert is your passion, get the family style option, or order off... More

Very good food and great service. Even though there was a car show going on and it was very busy, we got in under the time they quoted and the food was excellent. We had the family style meal and it was very good.

This is the place to go if you like to eat a lot of food and aren't real particular. Just be sure to order the Family Style serving option. We went down with a group of people to visit the flea market and had dinner here. We started out with a salad consisting of iceberg lettuce strips and very thin... More

A very large restaurant that has two ways to dine buffet or menu. That wait in the menu part of the restaurant in not nearly as long in the buffet area. Good Amish fare and the shoo fly pie is great.

Pricing a bit confusing. Pay for the family style, it will end up cheaper. Food was what I would consider about average. Taste was good as I would expect in any restaurant. Our waitress was not available most of the time, could not keep drink refilled for two people.
