Polish dogs an apple fritters amazing!! Would love for one of these in japan! For sure a weekly meal.
what is says it is! Loved the root beer and the creme soda (my first) you can tell it's fresh...and you can get a small sample if you ask. Food was good, -- tried the pork sandwich, corn dog and double burger, atmosphere was great and service very friendly....just the kind of place we like to find when traveling.
We stopped at Carlson's based on trip advisor. Food was average, but the historical atmosphere of the place is worth a stop. The Root Beer had a different taste. Bubbles Ice Cream is right across the street and a definite must see!
Great experience, something you won't find in Europe! Food is good, fried veggies excellent, root beer a class of its own. Prices are ok
My sister, daughter-in-law, daughter and I were traveling and wanting somewhere unique to eat. We didn't want the same old fast food. My daughter found this drive-in was nearby by searching the internet on her phone and we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The root beer is delicious! I loved the pork tenderloin sandwich and... More
Carlson's is really something to experience on a summer or early fall evening, It is very nostalgic. The root beer is most unique and difficult for me to describe but I highly recommend it! We generally get hot dogs (Eckrich brand is used) and fries of course! Nearby is Bubbles Ice cream parlor if you have room for dessert!
Long before there was Sonic there was Carlson's -- I've been coming here for 50 years! Friendly car hops serve to your vehicle, or on a nice day sit outside at a covered picnic table. Hot dogs and hamburgers are standard, large menu offers wide variety of other choices (good pork cutlet sandwich). Love the fried mushrooms, cauliflower and zucchini... More
We were in Michigan City on vacation and saw an ad for tCarlson's restaurant in the "Beacher" newspaper. It is their 60th year and the ad stated that they MAKE their own rootbeer. I drank rootbeer as a kid but have not had rootbeer in many, many years. So, my husband and I ordered the Chicago style hotdogs, he had... More
Folks, it's time to step back in time to the Fifties, to that wonderful era of Drive In Movies and Drive In Restuarants and Root Beer stands. Remember Root Beer? We loved it as a kid, long before all the Cola Wars and stuff. Root Beer is fun and nostalgic. Carlsons has been around since the Fifties. They've ALWAYS served... More
Stopped for a chili dog and root beer after shopping at the outlet mall. You have the option of carhop or picnic table service. I opted for carhop. The service was quick and the food was tasty. My fries were good but I would have liked them a little hotter. My only regret was not getting a larger size of... More
