Nice find downtown

Stopped in for dinner here on a week night. I had the gnocchi with chicken breast, which was quite tasty. The portion size was very generous. The rest of my dinner party had the petite filet which they enjoyed as well. So give Maxine's a try if your downtown or near the outlet mall.

The beautiful decor does not make up for the average food we had here on New Year's Eve. Hubby and I both had the weiner schnitzel. The breading on the pork was soggy and barely edible. The spaetzel side was skimpy but the red cabbage was excellent. I was not a fan of the salad with nothing in it...no tomatoes,... More

We ate at Maxines for the first time a couple weeks ago, and were very impressed. They have a wide range of entrees, and very affordable prices. My husband and I needed food that was on our diet and they were happy to do what we asked. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. We will definitely go back soon!

This is a restaurant I have been to many times as I am a local patron and because there aren't that many options in our small town. Their menu choices for vegetarians are limited so I tend to get the vegetarian polenta dish. It has always been an acceptable go-to dish. Last night however, after dinner and in the middle... More

Maxines is a block or two away from the outlet mall. We stopped by for an early dinner and found the place almost empty. The waitress was a bit flustered -- it was her first day -- but put forth a great effort and got the orders correct. Portions were nicely sized. Service was prompt and attentive. Definitely worth a... More

A very diverse menu, reasonably priced, great wine selection. The servers and bartenders are very well educated on their menu. The atmosphere is quaint. Always a fun time. I'll be back!

We took the South Shore Rail to Michigan City and were walking to the Light House Mall. We walked into Maxine's and were rather skeptical because the place was empty and it was about 12:45. We sat down ordered and thought that the food was great and reasonably prices. The restaurant I might add had three more tables filled by... More

We happened upon this restaurant while on our way to Blue Chip Casino. Walked in on a Friday evening and despite not having reservations, we were able to be seated. We had the Chicken Satay as an appetizer and it was delicious. I had the Firehouse Chicken sandwich and it was wonderful. Chicken with pepper jack cheese and jalapeno jelly... More
