This restaurant was supposed to be for a light lunch, but when we got in and saw what a wonderful buffet they had, we left having eaten a little too much. Everything was very good and 'different'. Even the mashed potatoes tasted better (homemade with lots of butter). Hostess was very friendly and gave us a close spot to service... More

If you like home cooked comfort food and a lot of it the pines is perfect for you. It is a down home style atmosphere with great service and is very inexpensive.

For the most part, buffets usually let me down. This place however is fantastic! The food is fresh, homemade and altogether wonderful! Also, you couldn't ask for a better deal at less than $10 for lunch or dinner. This is my favorite restaurant in all of Madison so far. I would definitely recommend it. Enjoy!

This beats Ponderosa without question. The buffet is small but still have so many choices. Their fried chicken is heavenly and their spiral ham is the best I have ever had. Their mac n cheese is better than any homemade I've had as well. I could eat here every day and never get sick of it. Friday and saturday is... More

For some folks, "all you can eat" are the magic words to happiness. And, if you're looking for a midwestern, home-style buffet - this is a pretty good one. It's got an expansive salad bar with lots of sides, a carving board (usually carrying ham and beef when I've been there), fish, and a table full of goopy deserts. Of... More

Our annual visit to Madison, IN has to include a meal at the Pines buffet style resturant. Expansive salad bar with more than enough to fill up on alone. Home cooking style includes soups, 8 plus vegtables, meats include beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish sometimes multiple selections. Desserts include bread pudding, fruit pies, cobblers, ice-cream and my favorite persimmon pudding... More

A bus tour of Madison I was on stopped at the Pines for lunch. It was busy and popular, indicating that the food was usually good. I particularly enjoyed the beef barley soup served that day. The salad bar was ordinary, but the food on the hot buffet was really good. I also enjoyed their chocolate pecan pie with some... More

My husband and I came upon the Pines by accident. We were both hungry and tired and it seemed to appear right in front of us. We were spending the weekend in Madison and had spent the day walking the waterfront and just wanted to eat and not have to wait, so when we came upon the Pines Buffet, we... More
