High Quality of Their Food

We have been enjoying this Mexican fare for a while now. We think the word "authentic" is over done. Yes they have cactus on their menu. Yes we tried the cactus, not our favorite item of their offerings. We are certain this is a very good place to eat Mexican food. The tacos, burritos... read more

My mom's side of the family is from Guadalajara Mexico. I can remember a distinct taste in my grandmother's cooking. A taste that I can never find in any of the Mexican restaurants I visit today (and I've been to a lot of them in many states). But today taco Rico impressed me. The food was fabulous. It reminded me... More

The salsa is house made and for the most part is a bit on the spicy side. My husband also likes the red and green sauce to make it even more spicy. They make their own pico salsa too. It is amazing. Top dishes there are the combination platter and the carne asada. Prices are very reasonable. Their chorizo is... More

Not your average Mexican restaurant. Upon walking in, you might think your at a chain by the way it looks. What a pleasant surprise to have authentic "street food" tacos, Our group tried several; shrimp, chorizo, asada, al pastor, pescado, lengua, barbacoa. Our favorites were barbacoa & pescado. The traditional cilantro/onion garnish made them perfect. They offered a kids menu with... More

We just moved here and have missed our favorite Mexican Resturant from "home". Just happen to drive by this place and saw all the cars. We made a quick turn in and what a surprise....we eat there at least once a week. IT is always busy and the food is always good.

I lived here for five years and loved going to Taco Rico. I have had the fajitas, the burritos, and the tacos. All were very good. My wife had the steak a la mexicana and it was excellent. All this said, the best meal is the chimichanga. My favorite meats tended to be either the carnitas or a combo of... More

The food is above average for Lafayette, but just barely. The service is always subpar, but today's was downright insulting. Waiter intentionally ignored my partner and me. We were given one refill, begrudgingly and after two requests. At one point the waiter walked past us as I was asking him for the refill and he didn't even acknowledge it. No... More

Service with a smile. Clean. Quaint. The salsas were fantastic, tacos were authentic, and beans and rice were good. Almost spot on to a true Mexican taqueria.

Taco Rico is a traditional Mexican restaurant in a strip mall at Greenbush and St Rd 52. I point that out because when I ask people if they've been there they don't even know where it is. It doesn't stand out visibly but is worth finding. This isn't Don Pablos or Pepes either. It's far more authentic. In fact they... More

I would pit Taco Rico's food against anywhere in the Southwest. We used to live in Southern Arizona and we miss the great food. This is Sonoran/northern Mexican food, not the greasy southern meat-centric food you might get elsewhere. Everything we've had here is delicious, but we're especially fond of the cheese enchiladas with red sauce and the chili rellenos.... More
