The food is above average for Lafayette, but just barely. The service is always subpar, but today's was downright insulting. Waiter intentionally ignored my partner and me. We were given one refill, begrudgingly and after two requests. At one point the waiter walked past us as I was asking him for the refill and he didn't even acknowledge it. No... More

Service with a smile. Clean. Quaint. The salsas were fantastic, tacos were authentic, and beans and rice were good. Almost spot on to a true Mexican taqueria.

Taco Rico is a traditional Mexican restaurant in a strip mall at Greenbush and St Rd 52. I point that out because when I ask people if they've been there they don't even know where it is. It doesn't stand out visibly but is worth finding. This isn't Don Pablos or Pepes either. It's far more authentic. In fact they... More

I would pit Taco Rico's food against anywhere in the Southwest. We used to live in Southern Arizona and we miss the great food. This is Sonoran/northern Mexican food, not the greasy southern meat-centric food you might get elsewhere. Everything we've had here is delicious, but we're especially fond of the cheese enchiladas with red sauce and the chili rellenos.... More

First, the salsa was amazing. If I were basing this review on just that, I would give it a 5. The portions are large. I couldn't even finish my taco salad. The food was good, but not the best or second best Mexican place I've eaten. The service is what knocked this down from a 4 to a 3. We... More

My favorite place to get Mexican food if from Taco Rico. I've never had any issues with the food, only deciding what to order. Everything is tasteful and taste like something my grandmother would make. The agua de horchata is delicious and flavorful. It's a simple place, but the food is to die for.

The restaurant was cute and food was delicious-steak fajita and beef tacos were great and very reasonable-fajita a bit on the oily side-and service was good also considering it was a very busy Friday dinner crowd. Very family oriented-lots of kids and families-BUT the TVS (there were multiple facing every direction) were playing a STUPID semi-pornographic mariachi music channel (hookers... More

Our family 'discovered' Taco Rico through numerous glowing reviews from friends. It did not dissapoint. My grilled steak (beef) was a flank steak that rivaled any I've had anywhere - tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We didn't get brave and order any seafood (it was our first trip to this place - seafood is a gamble) but it looked... More

Lived in lafayette 16 years, mexican places come and go. This one stays for a reason. Awesome food and service. Try the steak tacos with a side of cactus or the huge nacho supreme. I bet you have never had better unless your momma was from Mexico.
