I came here for my 30th birthday to get their "das boot". My family and I had a great time and I really enjoyed the 64 oz beer. The food was also nice and hot. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Good experience and I was glad I picked the Schnitzelbank for my birthday party!

This is our fourth or fifth time to eat at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant, this time for lunch. We both has soup and salad bar. Good variety to select from. The bean soup was delicious. The apple butter is excellent.

My friend John, whose parents grew up in Germany, says that this is the only German restaurant in America he's ever taken his parents to that they didn't complain about. Personally, I love this place. We visit every year after taking the kids to Holiday World. The hot German potato salad and sauerkraut taste exactly like my German grandmother's. The... More

I am no longer very close to the "Schnitz" as I once was, but for every special occasion, anniversary or birthday for the last 35+ years that I could make it, I have dined here. Our last visit which was in the early evening was actually a disappointment. The once awesome salad bar, isn't any longer, "dry" salad just one... More

Jaspar is a very German town, established long ago and this restaurant is trying to hold onto those old traditions. It offers mostly German food but also has other types I suppose because not everyone wants Bratwurst and Ruebens. The German potato salad is their specialty and I will say it was excellent. The other German dishes I had were... More

Service was great. Bonnie took care of us and guided us on our selection. The fried chicken was wonderful as usual. The Kassler Ripchen was fine! As for sides, the Turnip Slaw is fantastic. I know, I know you must like turnips to start. The potato pancakes were good but not as good a plain potato cakes. The apple butter... More

This restaurant was nice. It was very busy when we ate there on Sept. 19 & 20. We did enjoy the salad bar but neither of us typically will eat from a salad bar. It was o.k.

Although I only had the salad bar, it was very good. The cornbread salad was a new treat for me. Our waitress was very good. Did not let our drink glasses get empy.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays they have a 2 inch thick center cut smoked pork chop dinner w/ a vinegar based house made BBQ sauce. It is amazing! The pork chop is very moist and the smoky flavor is great. It was perfectly cooked. Also the salad bar is fresh and delicious including radish kraut which is unique and delicious. The... More
