These are the yeast donuts and alligator coffee cakes, the filled pastry, and the fancy cookies that early morning dreams are made of. A must visit when in Indianapolis. Bring cash, it is the only way you'll get a donut here and 16th street location is the best!

Not only is the best donut in Indy but it is one of the best things about being in Indy. Besides the donuts get the cinnamon rolls and the brownies.

Started on the West side, near the Pole, now have location on South side. of Indianapolis. The policemen & firemen loved the late nite and earily morning hours. The local s loved the taste, and everyone loves the price.

Patience is a virtue when you visit Long's Bakery near 16th & Lafayette Rd. In the middle of the day, it is not uncommon for the lines to be out the door. Be patient - it's worth it. While waiting to place my order on a late Sunday afternoon, I had the opportunity to read the magazine article hanging on... More

I think no matter what time you go there is going to be a line but it is worth it! The line moves quick-just make sure you bring cash as they only take cash! Everything is homemade and there are so many choices-I'm not sure I saw everything they had to sell! The cake doughnuts actually tasted like cake-light and... More

Just go for the yeast donuts, decoration on cakes and other products looked like they had a one year old doing it or felons. The place is a hole in the wall, its kind of dirty and a really bad zone on the westside, be prepare to bring your armored vest. :D

Usually I check Trip Advisor for the best food places, when away from home. So I was recently in Indianapolis and had to check out Long's Bakery. Got a 1/2 dozen different donuts to try out, they were very good. Only bad thing was the wait, I probably waited 30 minutes in line.

There is always a line (5 people when I went in the middle of the day) at Long's Bakery and there's a reason for it. The yeast donuts are melt in your mouth awesome. Very sweet. Better than Krispy Kreme. You can microwiave (8 seconds) them the next day and they are still as wonderful. Don't bother by the third... More

Went here because of the rating on trip advisor. It was almost closing time but the items we purchased were very fresh and yummy. The price was very reasonable as well!

Stopped here after dinner for dessert. Our friends bought two dozen long johns and raved about them. We each had one long john and they were ok. They were not freshly made as it was close to closing. I would not drive out of my way for their donuts. Good..not great
