I was driving in the Post Rd / I-40 area. I saw their sign and decided to try them with take out. At night, it looked like the hole-in-the-wall kind of place my wife and I love to find. I was pleasantly surprised. THE FOOD: I ordered fettuccine alfredo, and I asked for shrimp added. The pasta was cooked perfectly,... More

Went here on a recommendation and really enjoyed it. The flavors are really great and the history of the restaurant is special. There are pictures on the walls that show it has been around Indianapolis for a long time. I liked the alfredo sauce very well, as well as the house salad, which is a flavorful homemade dressing. Nice ambiance... More

my wife and I joined some friends for dinner at this place on the east side of Indianapolis. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were seated immediately. I ordered the seafood pasta which had mussels, shrimp and crabmeat in a alfredo sauce that I thought was very good. My wife was not impressed, however, with her spaghetti and meatballs. She... More

We ate here with an old friend who came from her house and so we met at the restaurant. She recommended it because it had a good Italian buffet. Sadly, after going in we were told the buffet had ended permanently a few days before "We have a new menu but got rid of the buffet to cut food waste!"... More

We ate at Iralian Gardens for the first time tonight. Though the building is old, I thought the atmosphere was fun with Frank Sinatra playing. Heather was our server, and did a very good job. The food was great, especially the endless garlic bread. We will definitely go back.

The worst...I have never had "pasta with sausage" served to me as pasta with a whole sausage sitting on the side of the plate. The sausage also tasted very strange. It was the only time at a restaurant that I have ever not finished the food that I ordered (and left hungry). Just go down the street to Olive Garden...or... More

Pizza Pete's family has reclaimed and remodeled Italian Gardens recently and brought it back to the original! Fresh, clean and completely re-done. Same classic dishes from the old days! My favorite dish is house salad with homemade lasanga. This little place is worth checking out!

My sister's family had been to Italian Gardens multiple times before, and had great experiences. Tonight, however, was not one of those experiences. I felt like I was on an episode of "Kitchen Nightmares". There was one waitress in the restaurant, which meant lousy service. I waited for sweetener for my tea for half the night, only to wait for... This is true Italian cuisine: ingredients, preparation [seasoned expertly, pasta al dente] and presentation ~ soup, bread, salad. They have classic Italian brews available and servers are knowledgable about the menu and attentive but not obsequious. Excellent dining experience.

Best italian dressing and alfredo sauce I have ever eaten in my life! Lots of flavor. Can't wait to go back!
