Walking in, there was a smell of something bad, like fish going bad. That should have stopped me but I wanted sushi so I sat at the sushi bar. Service was good but the sushi was below average. Not horrible and I didn't have any stomach problems after. The sushi chef was not impressive and the quality of the product... More

Sushi is one of my favorite things to eat. I am in Indianapolis on business and was craving Sushi. Mikado was a short walk from my hotel (Sheraton City Centre) so I thought I would give it a try. The Fire Roll was good, Spicy Tuna w/ Avocado, topped with fresh jalapeno and cilantro, nice and spicy which is to... More

My family and I were in search of Asian food for dinner in downtown Indianapolis while on vacation. All that was available were P.F. Chang's and Mikado Restaurant. Since P.F. Chang's was a chain, we opted to try Mikado, something local. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, which is a simple Japanese dish served in many restaurants. When my order arrived,... More

For someone that grow up on the coast and always loved seafood, I am often weary to try sushi in random places. I must say this place was an exception. I had the Seafood puff, and a roll that had fresh crab in a spicy mayo( forgot the name) but it was good! They had a WIDE section of wines... More

We enjoyed the sushi, followed by the eel with seasoned rice. We finished with a delicious Japanese ice cream dessert. Service was very attentive.

Our server was a cool cucumber - not warm - but, basically efficient. I was disappointed there was no hibachi - all tables - but, they did have a sushi bar. I ordered scallops to share w/ my son and his father ordered steak and lobster and also shared w/ my son - he ate well - but, it would... More

Our hostess made us come back over and over again but best of all the sushi was great and very authentic. This was a perfect antidote to the many steak houses in town

The food was awesome here. When we sat down, the server seemed a little dry, but his sence of humor and service skills really ended up enhancing our meal. The server and bus staff was prompt, unassuming and efficient.

There is always something anew at Mikado. The chef always seems to have something new to try. Service is good. Prices are STEEP, but worth the expense every now and again. If you want simple sushi, there are other options around town with more bang for the buck.

Went here for a light Sunday lunch and although I was only one of two diners on this very cold day, this traditional Japanese restaurant didn't disappoint! The decor is dated, which wasn't helped by the restaurant being empty, but the reputation of this chain meant I knew the food wold be good. The menu is extensive and the server... More
