My sister introduced me to the Tamale Place last year, and boy do I appreciate it!! I love dry tamales with a little moistness added. The beef, pork and chicken tacos are seasoned just right. I also like the fact that you're able to purchase cold tamales for $1.50 when available. Overall, I give this place 5 stars deservingly!!

On our way to Lake Erie for a Circle Tour Vacation, we stopped in Indianapolis for lunch. We chose The Tamale Place, based on Guy Fieri’s visit there a while back. We were not disappointed. There is a menu printed on a large sign panel inside the restaurant - but they may or may not have some of the items... More

Had tamales and a spicy chicken taco and the were both very good. Be prepared to experiment as they have a limited number of each type (on a screen that is updated in real time) so you may not be able to get the selection you cam in for. Go and have some yummy tamales, they are hard to find... More

We went to the city market location but couldn't find on trip advisor so I will review this location because the food was awesome! We had the chicken tacos, a beef tamale and some chips and guacamole. The tacos were some of the best ever, juicy, flavorful and served on a soft corn tortilla. The tamale was very good with... More

I went here after reading all the good reviews, thinking that it would be a great place for tamales, sadly, they were far from good. I know Mexican food, been eating and cooking it for 30+ years, and have cooked tamales many times, it's unfortunate that the citizens have been dooped into thinking that these are authentic, because they are... It's called the Tamale Place, so of course you have to try the Tamales, and they are solid. I would especially recommend the desert Tamales - like the Chocolate or Pumpkin - which are unique and delicious. Having said that, I actually thought the Tacos and Tortas were even better than the Tamales. I'd go so far as to say... More

Went for a quick lunch with my work buddies. I had a steak tamale and a steak taco. Both were absolutely amazing, especially the taco. The tortilla was delicious and the filling also. Definitely a great place to have a quick lunch and not so expensive either.

Even if you've never had a tamale or aren't sure if you would like them... TRY THEM HERE! I was traveling for business last week and went here for dinner based on Trip Advisor reviews. I am so glad I did. From the tamales to the tacos to the excellent choice of salsas/queso/guacamole to dip those amazing tortilla chips in...... More

We had the tamales. Large and authentic. The flavor and texture were amazing. The veggie nachos were different than any other, and delicious. Portion was very large (we ordered the small). The chips are homemade and awesome. Staff was helpful and very nice. Will definitely be back!

I love tamales and have eaten lots of them in many restaurants all over the SW and SE USA for more than 60 years. The Tamale Place serves the best that I have ever had. It is a 5 star TAMALE restaurant, but not a 5 star restaurant. Very few of them. Still worth the time and effort to get... More
