I tried The Tamales place after my girlfriend asked me to bring her lunch. The beef Tamale was good but a little dry. The home made Masa was outstanding. I also tried the steak soft taco wich was great. They homemade chips are very tasty too.

If you love tamales, you'll LOVE these bad boys! They are half pound tamales! So delicious! Poblano/cheese & beef/cheese were my fav! You have to get there early cause once they run out, thats it! Homemade chips and salsa too! Yummmm!
I grew up in Ecuador and this is exactly how I remember tamales. Mild, spicy. Beef, pork, chicken. Red sauce, green sauce. Great variety. Variety of sides. You won't leave hungry.
We found this place on Tripadvisor and read through the reviews prior to stopping by. We also read the reviews on DDD's website.
We were very impressed by the size of the tamales. Each tamale is 1/2 pound. There is a good amount of meat and masa. The green sauce was excellent, and even my picky eaters loved them. We...

Really excellent. Only con would be limited seating, mostly because it's so popular. Had the tamale platter and a side taco, which came with rice while my wife had the beans. Tamales are quite large and very good, taco may even be better. Great food at a great value.
I only tried the tamales, but that was enough to sell me on the place. Went on a Sunday afternoon and they had already run out of several options. I actually prefer when items run out because that means it isn't mass produced and that they have to make whatever the item again and it will be fresh. The place...

Ok, yes I wanted to come here because it was on DDD..and also because of my love for tamales. When I walked to the counter I looked up at the menu only to find out from the employee that the board on the side has what is available. Only about three different tamales as well as a dessert tamale was...

First off, I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, but after seeing it advertised on "Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins" I thought it worthy of a visit, and am glad we did. We both ordered the $8 combo. Wow, talk about filling! It included your choice of any tamale (which comes wrapped in corn husks), black beans or rice,...

I've been planning on eating at The Tamale Place for at least a year. I never took the time when I was in the Indy area to search it out. Big mistake. The food is terrific!
Since we had never been there before, we weren't sure if it would be very good. Figured that if it didn't meet expectations we...
