Friendly place & great home cooking food.

So while in the area for business I see a recommendation for the Steer-In to eat. It was also noted on Diners, Drive Ins, & Dives. So I drive over for dinner at night and being winter the area is pretty dark at 7pm. I pull in to the parking lot and there are other cars there, but the inside... read more

We love trying to find Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives places whenever we travel. We came in for breakfast and found great service and delicious food. Great Sausage Gravy, great "Steer-in potatoes" and an over all great value.

My husband and I took a trip to Indianapolis for valentines day and we saw this restaurant on diners drive ins and dives and I wanted to check it out. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had. The food was excellent and you could tell it was made from the heart, the milkshakes were also wonderful.... More

Another Triple D visit for the family. The place truly had the old time diner feel. The staff was really friendly and did a great job. The menu was pretty huge and there was a nice selection of different types of food and the prices were a great value for the amount that you would receive. I had the meatball... More

Was looking forward to visiting here after seeing it on TV. We certainly weren't disappointed. Really good downhome cooking and plenty of it. We got therte just before closing time and were not made to feel rushed at all. The chicken livers were just right.

I went with two other people, and everyone's food looked well-prepared. My patty melt was made with lightly grilled, but not greasy, marbled rye toast. The onions were beautifully caramelized. Unfortunately, the entire sandwich was bland, and the beef patty was slightly overcooked and dry. They were out of tots, but I was pleased that they offer crinkle cut fries.... More

When I lived on the east side, Steer Inn was a quick go-to place for a solid breakfast or lunch. They have remodeled a bit and added a new menu with many opportunities for good, home-cooked meals regardless of time of day. It's a diner; not a fancy place but the food is delicious.

See this place on triple D and had to try it while visiting Indy! Me and my husband really enjoyed the home cooked food and the staff were really nice! The owner over heard us tell the waitress we were visiting from Canada and came over and introduced himself. If we ever go back to Indy I hope this place... More

This is a staple for east side people. Friendly staff, clean, great food. The menu is loaded with down home comfort food. Service is fast, wait staff is friendly. I've never had a bad experience here, also a good selection for home cooking done right
