Meh

Very casual and homey atmosphere. Expected really great food since it was on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. We ordered beef and noodles, fried chicken and lasagna. I wasn't impressed. The food (except the fried chicken) was luke warm and somewhat bland. The chicken was hot and juicy, but lacked... read more

It was a nice surprise. We;ve lived in Indy all our lives but can't remember ever going here, though we probably did in our teen years. We had heard good things about it, and didn't realize it was still around. We were in the area so decided to try it. It was 11:30 on a Saturday and the place was... More

I love the Steer In. The food is like homemade--grandma food. Don't miss the beef and noodles. It isn't fancy, but it's comforting and good.

The corned beef hash is to die for, they corn the beef in the restaurant... The sausage gravy & biscuits & fresh eggs delicious..Some think its a bit expensive, but for the quality u get i disagree. The milk on the other hand, now if the cow was outside it would be worth the price almost $4.00 for a large.... More

I am clueless as to why this place gets high ratings. Although it's "historic" it's also old, tired and mostly mediocre. The place could use a good cleaning, remodeling, update to the menu and improvement in service. This is just ordinary food and there are much better places in Indy to eat. I'm all for preserving history, but this place... More

Great neighborhood dine in Diner! Great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! I love the 10th St Skillet, the Steak and eggs, Corned Beef Hash, Twin Steer Burger, and so much more!

This is a fairly traditional old-school diner. Nothing appears to have been updated since sometime in the 1970s and everything has that general coating of diner sludge (sticky floors, sticky tables, dusty window sills with several dead flies, etc.). My husband ordered the beef and noodles, which he and my daughter both enjoyed (tasted very much like what his mom... More

Great coffee, generous portions and willing to accommodate dietary requests and adjust sides to meet our preferences. Service was attentive, but not pushy. Thankful establishments like this still exist.

Was on a road trip with the in-laws. The father-in-law is a fan of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, so we tried to hit a few. The decor at the Steer In is pretty basic. But you can't eat decor. You can eat their excellent food! The owner saw that we primarily ordered items featured on the Triple D episode... More

Generous portion with potatoes - $6. Good coffee - $2. Great setting out of the 50s and nice servers. Hope this place last another 50 years.
