Friends knew we were going to Indianapolis for a conference and recommended we go to Saint Elmo's steakhouse and have the shrimp with Saint Elmo's special shrimp sauce. We went and not only enjoyed the fabulous shrimp and shrimp sauce but one of their specialty drinks and the pork chop appetizers. The building is interesting and they have done a... More

Opened in 1902, what a gem. Very distinct decor ,reminiscent of times gone by. The menu is that of a typical steak house. Very well done. Limited for vegetarians. Over-the -top shrimp cocktail. Upstairs is a wonderful, elegant bar where the noise of the street can't be heard. A fireplace graces the room with intimate seating. There is also a... More

Dave was our waiter and he was excellent! Got things done quickly, but had time to spend with patrons. Known for their shrimp cocktail, it is not for the weak! This was our second time here and everyone seemed to be enjoying the evening. Desserts looked HUGE!

We went for a long overdue visit while in Indianapolis this past weekend, on Saturday evening. It was as I had anticipated for some time, worth the wait. The shrimp cocktail was the best I have ever savored or expect to savor, in reference to size and the horseradish sauce. The New York Strip was on par with ones I... More

Wonderful, wonderful steak restaurant. Went with a colleague so we shared dinners. One dry aged steak and one wet aged, both absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. Thanks to our server for asking our preferences and making appropriate recommendations.

We had a very nice dinner at St. Elmo's after hearing about it from several people. The shrimp cocktail with fresh horseradish did NOT disappoint. We both had steaks and they were prepared beautifully. I was not particularly impressed with the bean soup, so I would recommend skipping it - it's really a waste of space in your stomach when... Does St. Elmo Steakhouse need anymore introductions to this world? Feel silly writing a review on one of the most popular, revered steakhouses in the country but it is a visit worth writing about. Most great steakhouses have great meat. It starts there. What separates the exceptional from the great steakhouses is the service, ambiance, side dishes, wine list, etc.... More

After hearing all the hype we were pleased to have a nice dinner at St Elmo. The service and staff were excellent. For appetizer we tried the world famous shrimp and cocktail sauce which was amazing. Huge shrimp and that cocktail sauce was very tasty. It has a strong burn for a few seconds that clear the sinuses but finished... More

Great meal, service was excellent. As most everyone knows go for the Shrimp cocktail special. This place gives you a potato with your meal, unlike most places. They give you a very good serving of potatoes, go for the mashed, they are da bomb!
