This restaurant has always been on my 'best list.' Until...that fateful day when my husband and I decided to go for an early dinner in the bar...around 5:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night. I have watched with disappointment as the management has 'shrunk' the shrimp (both in size and quantity); took rack of lamb off the menu, replacing with a... More

Recommended to us by Indy locals. The food was excellent but I've never seen wait staff move so rapidly in any restaurant in my life. It was not an evening of casual dining that's for sure. It felt like a "get in - get out" environment. I'd recommend the food but not the atmosphere!!!

We arrived shortly after the Colts game. It was obviously busy and starting to get busier, but they are always prepared and there was not a moment we were waiting for anything! The shrimp cocktail was nice and spicy as usual. The filets came out perfectly cooked and the service was absolutely perfect. Can't wait to go back there.

All you need to know is that when network sportscasters are in Indianapolis for Colts or Pacers games, Final Four, the "500" and other televised contests, their hands-on favorite is St. Elmo's, above and beyond all the upscale chain steak houses. The turn-of-the-century, pre-World War I ambience is intact. Their steaks and chops are known nationally, prepared flawlessly, but they... More

The atmosphere is just slightly loud - NY style. Old fashioned servers in the long white stiff aprons - always on their game and very knowledgeable with the menu and extras. They were all timely - last time we went in before a game and they were well aware that we were just slightly in a hurry and they handled... More

Returned after not having been there in several years. Don't think that I will rush back. Started with the shrimp cocktail - as always. Shrimp was a little tough, just ok. My steak was jsut ok as well, nothing to write home about. Way, way overpriced.

St. elmos is a cool place and a landmark in the city. But for the price of the food, it should be better. the steaks just don't justify the price! I like flemings steaks so much better.

This is a must in Indy. Get the Famous Cocktail shrimp! Nice wine list. Best part is the charm... old building takes you back to 1900... A must for a night out for dinner and drinks!
