Old School Classic Steakhouse that Satisfies!!

Old School Classic Steakhouse!! This place serves fantastic steak in a vintage setting that rivals any major premium steak house. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind paying for an excellent cut of meat!!

What a great place to eat. The service was awesome and the food was fantastic! Just a great cozy casual place. My husband had the surf n turf and I got the filet it was cook to the way we ordered it. We also tried the shrimp cocktail and it cleared your sinuses. Very pricey but well worth it. Ohh... More

St. Elmo's Steak House is a must do while in Indianapolis. Be prepared to spend some $$$. But soooo worth it! Our waitress was terrific and helped make a few recommendations for our kids. This is a place we would definite go to again!

Impromptu visit to restaurant leading to great eating! The shrimp cocktail is absolutely worth every bite as was the ribeye steak and the lobster linguini. They were very sweet to accomodate us without a reservation as we were just passing thru Indianapolis. It is pricey but worth it. Very friendly service.

Went there for a business dinner. It is an old fashion steak house with a lot of charm but they put a lot of people through the place every night and we felt rushed. They are famous for their shrimp cocktail. Caution: while it is very good, it has a ton of horseradish in the sauce. They have a very... More

Had to try one of the best rated steakhouses in the country. We started with the famous shrimp cocktail with spicy sauce. Shrimps were tasty and the sauce was spicy and good. Try it. I had the porter house steak. It was very good, but not as tender as i thought it would be, especially on the strip side. Overall... More

An experience one really has to do every few years or so ... or, more often if you're loaded, like all the local pro athletes and members of visiting teams, and the business people on expense accounts who are wining and dining their clients. When it comes to really good steak houses, we find it much nicer to go to... More

Take your wallet but the food is well worth it, just can't do it very often. You must order at least one Shrimp Cocktail and if you have to pass it around. When you take your first bite of the sauce don't breath in or you will regret it. Then you will take another bite. Without reservations you may wait... More

Very good, however, VERY expensive. Right up there with the Ruth Chris prices. Old style SERVICE which was great. Everything on the menu pretty much ala carte.

Everytime I have been in Indy (which is 5 or 6 times per year), I make it a point to eat at St Elmo's. Classic steak house with incredible (hot) shrimp cocktail. I am always with business colleagues who quickly become huge fans able well.
