A "bucket list" steakhouse!

Put it on yours, too, if you ever visit Indy! But call early for reservations and be flexible--that's a must! I had the 18 oz. dry aged Ribeye (full disclosure, I love dry aged meat!) and was very pleased. A tad fatty--but you can expect that from a ribeye. It didn't impair the overall taste... read more

Oh St. Elmo's, how I look forward to the burn every year. During my annual trip, I love to go here. The service is excellent, the food and drinks delicious, and the shrimp cocktail is an Indianapolis experience.

we went here on a Sunday night during the NFL combine. We had reservations and it was pretty busy. Our table was on the side close to the door so there was a draft...pretty chilly. Waiter did not give us an overview of the menu or any off menu specials. The service was pretty slow with the start but got... More

Having had a huge build up to the reputation of St Elmo and the outstanding ratings at this site, we were delighted that a friend, who now lives in Indianapolis, invited us to St Elmo last evening for dinner. We waited in a very loud crowd at the bar and finally, were shown to our table. The host asked for... More

Let me first tell you that if you decide to dine here you are in for an amazing experience. This restaurant is a legendary institution that oozes with class and taste the moment you walk in. Shrimp Cocktail is a must, you are a fool if you pass up anything dry aged steak wise here! The sides, service, drinks and... More

We decided to stop in on a Saturday for a delayed valentine's dinner. Had reservations, and glad we did because it was very busy. Dinner was good and I really enjoyed the shrimp cocktail. Although next time I will just buy a jar of sauce to take home. Nothing too special about the shrimp. Now to the pure disgusting and... More

Growing up in Indianapolis, St. Elmo's was on my list of places I would eat someday. Finally got my chance last night. Bread basket was good, wine selection was great, shrimp cocktail was all I had heard (hot, hot, hot, but amazing), my filet mignon was the best I have ever tasted, lobster tail was ok (but they are a... Had dinner here with about 8 friends. Food is expensive, very loud, and crowded. There are better restaurant selections in town. They took a lot of money for a not so decent meal.

We visited in Feb 2014 for a large group Business dinner (about 20 people). The steaks were rather unimpressive. For those that like shrimp cocktail, it was voted the best people have ever had in our group. This was a good meal but wouldn't be my go-to in the future.

Atmosphere, great. The cocktail sauce will give your head a 3 second boost and well worth it. great flavor all the way around. Thanks for a great... More
