Faceplant Into Potato Stars and Chocolate Malts!

This is another one of those 'there's nothing bad here' places that I have found to be the norm in Indianapolis. I hope Indianapolis folks know how lucky they are in this food department. The Mug-n-Bun is worth the drive for drive-up, dine-in, or take-out - and ask for the free bumper sticker (I... read more

Not as good as it used to be, but still worth stopping in for good diner, drive-in food. World famous and been on tv for it's popularity.

Classic, Indianapolis drive-in that brings you back to a simpler time. Good shakes and eats. Definitely a throw-back recommendation. (How many of these are there, any more?)

If you're passing through Indy, this place is only about 1/2 mile off I-465 on the west side of the city (easy on and off), and it's definitely worth a stop. I have been visiting this place for about 35 years (since childhood). The food is very reasonably priced and is very good. The pizza is a nice break from... More

First, this is a drive in diner. One can't expect 5 star food here. I've had hot dogs, tenderloins, burgers, onion rings, fries, and ... the ROOT BEER. I am far from an expert on sodas but this root beer is the best. I tend to like it plain but someday I need to try a float. The service is... More

Their root beer (even the diet) is the best around. Often crowded but the food is good and fun, though service can be a bit slow. Nice people and place, you won't need reservations. Burgers and tenderloins are their best sandwichs. I like it for lunch on a warm day to sit on the picnic tabled.

Been eating here my entire life. Usually choose the drive-in service and eat in my car. Food is all usual American stuff...tenderloins, burgers, dogs, etc. I've always gotten the Pizza Burger since I was a kid. Now, they have an indoor dining facility across the parking lot, and the little gem of a carry-out pizza place in the back building.... More

This place is delicious and is especially known for their onion rings and root beer but everything I have had is good. It has that old-fashioned feel- turn on your lights, the waitress will come out and take your order, and a few minutes later you will have delicious food on the front window of your car. Service is great.

Be sure to order a frosty mug of root beer when you get there. You pull up, flip on your lights and the "car hop" comes out to take your order. When it is delivered it is put on a tray hanging onto the driver car window. ...just like in the 50s! Wonderful place to bring young and old for... More
