This is one of my go to places in Indy for Sushi! Be sure to get there early, before you're too hungry... Parking is limited and almost always a short wait to be seated. The atmosphere is loud due to the tight quarters but if you're willing to wait, the sushi is phenomenal!

Had sushi today for lunch at Sakura. This was our first time eating here and were pleasantly surprised. We only had sushi but the other food we saw, especially the noodles, looked and smelled delicious. As for the sushi, the menu was rather small compared to other sushi places we have eaten at. The sushi we ordered was filling and... More

I wasn't sure about this place when we first looked at it. I wanted to take my wife out for an early Mother's Day meal and we decided to give it a try on a Friday evening. I knew we had picked a special spot when we pulled up at 6pm and couldn't find a place to park. We were... More

Good food. Reasonable prices. More than adequate service, At lunch, the bento boxes are a particularly good deal.

Have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and the menu, while still very similar to years past, offers a wide variety and the finest sushi and Japanese food in the Midwest. Best item on the menu is their Soft Shell Crab roll. Other favorites are the Katsudon (breaded pork cutlet over rice) and the meat/cheese appetizer. Best... More

I'm not a Japanese food love. I don't eat raw fish. But the soft shell crab that everyone raving about in tripadvisor does taste good. My main order is teriyaki fish + tempura lunch bento set. I don't really like the teriyaki fish. I think teriyaki chicken will be better. We came before 12noon. It quickly fill up after noon.

We really enjoyed visiting Sakura during the lunch hour. We ordered a lunch special and extra rolls that came with a ton of food for a very reasonable price. We are not sushi gurus, but for our tastes, the rolls were large and delicious, and many were between $4 and $8 for 6 rolls.

Sakura was introduced to us by a visiting Japanese scientist over 20 years ago. He knew what to expect in good Japanese cooking. Not a fancy place, but food is great. Their chirashi is my favorite. Also other good sushi, sashimi, teriyaki, noodles, and tempura dishes. This is one of our two favorite restaurants in Indianapolis area. Often very busy... More

I was expecting so much better from this restaurant based on other people's reviews. I was unpleasantly surprised by the poor service and atmosphere. The food was good, however I was expecting a more hibachi-style menu, which was my mistake. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
