Anyone familiar with the nightlife on Massachusetts Avenue is familiar with the wide variety of restaurants and bars along its southern blocks. Black Market is on the far North end and a little out of the way from the regular nightlife. The menu is unique and well suited to foodies while the atmosphere is casual. Wine selection is very broad... More

Enjoyed a very nice evening dinner with family members here. Small place located on northeast end of Massachusett Avenue's eclectic Art District. Good selection of craft beers on tap or in bottles. Very relaxed atmosphere. Casual dress acceptable. Nice selection of starters. We tried three off of their menu and the special for the night. I enjoyed the roasted brined... More

We heard good things about this restaurant so had to try. The seating style is cafeteria-esque. You get to sit with strangers and make friends! The menu was small but had good choices. I had the duck leg and waffle just to eat outside the box. The duck was fall-off-the-bone good. The waffle was just sweet enough and went well... More

The lamb was a bit dry. Good bone marrow though. Half chicken was really really good. One of us had a brisket which was very moist, tasty and great flavour from the sauce. Duck and waffel was an unexpected combination but it turned out to taste good. Pork was quite ok and very tasty.

I'd been hearing great things about this spot for months and I finally had lunch here. My salad was just incredible, fresh, flavorful and filling. The fries were amazing and came with a "mayo" sauce that was so much more! I also had a side of mustard and was blown away by it. Seriously, when is mustard good enough to... More

I have been here twice in the last few months (I visit for work) and both meals were excellent. This review is about my first visit about 6 weeks ago, more or less. I visited on a Friday night, after 9pm, and sat at the bar since I was solo. A cocktail to start (they have a great beverage program... More

In town for a meeting and snuck in some time for a quick lunch. Hoping to avoid the usual, I asked my friend "Google" where we should go and it pointed us to this place. "Pointed you - how?" Glad you asked. I looked up lunch menus and this place on their lunch menu had a "Grilled PB and P"... More

Black Market has been at the top of my must-try list for longer than I can remember and it lived up to expectations. The signature burger - a mix of beef and lamb - was exceptionally moist and the pork chop may have best I have ever had. Oh, so tender. And of course, we had to get the Duck... More

They have great food here, definitely out of the ordinary. Be sure to try the pickled appetizer. Also they a great list of beers to try. I want to try them all! It does tend to be a bit crowded and loud, but I think the food makes up for that.

Arrive early for a good spot at one of two main tables. It's a tight squeeze next to the bar. Plenty of drinks, but a tad limited on the food side; however, the food is delicious. No reservations taken. Great atmosphere.
