This is the first restaurant I will visit next time in Indy

One of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Three of us shared Couscous Tfaya with chicken and there were so many flavors in my mouth I was anxious for the next bite. Service was good, let me say that first. Waiter was very prompt. But the food was not good. It was just OK if you don't mind microwave re-heated game hen served in a COLD Tajine... << WOW And although the bread was fresh and hot it was not Moroccan Bread nor was it home made. It was a yeast bread... More

To journey outside your usual flavor spectrum, try Saffron Cafe. Their tajin dishes - stew like dishes cooked in enclosed clay pots - were full of flavor and delicious. Lamb was tender and could be cut with a fork. All the ingredients were very fresh. The spinach appetizer was very tasty, as was the avocado-shrimp-lime salad. Go for it!

This place is very intimate and has a romantic feel. We had a family dinner here and our server was excellent. The wine was divine ( I recommend the Moroccan Chardonnay). I am not a big meat eater but had the Moroccan Paella so I could try everything and found it flavorful and the portion was huge! My mother-in-law had... More

I will recommend this place as a local gem. This restaurant hits the check marks on all angles. Food was great, service courteous and excellent ambiance. I wanted a substitution on my tagine and it was not a problem. Food was cooked fresh and tasted great. What I liked most was how the chef came out himself and interacted with... More

It was expensive for what it was. The name Saffron Cafe gave me hopes for a flavor full meal. The space is well done. The food was pretty bland. My waiter suggested in have the cumin chicken as the flavors would great than the ginger chicken I ordered. I went with the suggestion. Started with scallops and shrimp and cilantro.... More

Eating at Saffron is one of my high points in visiting Indianapolis. It's small and tucked out of the way, but well worth the trip. If you have never had Moroccan food before, this will make you a believer. The blends of spices in the tajines is quite delightful and the servers are professional, courteous, and helpful.

Terrible service, horrible food and very high prices! Please, don't go! The waiter did bring Luke warm water to the table after we asked for iced water. Food was cooked before we got there and microwaved! Will never go back there!

we wanted to try something new... and then i found a Groupon..so it seemed to be. from the moment we walked in and were welcomed like long lost friends until we walked out the door... just a wonderful evening. Our waiter was so attentive but not too much, subtle suggestions and wonderful timing. The saffron Mussels were to die for... More

First time eating at any Indian eatery...and wad pleasantly surprised. Very good food with amazing ambiance. We ordered an appetizer special - orange and avocado salad that was great! Then we shared the cumin chicken stew and finished dinner with the tiramisu. All was fantastic! Can't wait to return.
