Roller coaster ride for the tongue

My husband and I have had this place on our list to try for a while now. And we wish we had gone sooner! We started with a amazing appetizer that I couldn't even begin to pronounce, but Who Cares! The name is moroccan but the food has nothing to do with the real moroccan food , I'd rather eat at McDonald's . The people who gave 5 stars to this junk food never tasted the real moroccan food .

It is an expensive restaurant with bad food and service. I ordered grill platter and it was so salty so I couldn't eat it. I let our waitress know about that he didn't do anything. While I was eating my dessert the waitress grabbed my spoon from my hands and packed the contain of the spoon in the box. Finally... More

We had a party of four: two had chicken dishes, one had the seafood paella, and the other had lamb. I will say the lamb was by far the best dish out of the four and I would highly recommend it. The seafood paella lacked the typical flare/flavor of a traditional paella that I have had in travels around Europe.... More

When planning a pleasant couple's night out for great, exotic food and atmosphere, along with wonderful, attentive service, we opted for a return visit to Saffron Cafe. It never disappoints. And while the weather was bitterly frigid outside, the ambiance and welcome inside Saffron was as warm as usual. It's a great special event and savory dining destination. Though we... More

Chef Sentissi I think is one of the best chefs around, He has a nutrition background, he just wrote a new book. My favorite dish is the honey chicken tajine!!! Oh my word!!! I can't even explain how good it was. Saffron, garlic, turmeric, chicken, bay leaves, apricots, pears, dried plums, sesame seeds etc.... He has a cooking class that... More

One of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Three of us shared Couscous Tfaya with chicken and there were so many flavors in my mouth I was anxious for the next bite. In addition we ordered Lamb Tagine (like a stew served in a ceramic pot). It was served with the most amazing roasted potatoes.... More

Service was good, let me say that first. Waiter was very prompt. But the food was not good. It was just OK if you don't mind microwave re-heated game hen served in a COLD Tajine... << WOW And although the bread was fresh and hot it was not Moroccan Bread nor was it home made. It was a yeast bread... More

To journey outside your usual flavor spectrum, try Saffron Cafe. Their tajin dishes - stew like dishes cooked in enclosed clay pots - were full of flavor and delicious. Lamb was tender and could be cut with a fork. All the ingredients were very fresh. The spinach appetizer was very tasty, as was the avocado-shrimp-lime salad. Go for it!

This place is very intimate and has a romantic feel. We had a family dinner here and our server was excellent. The wine was divine ( I recommend the Moroccan Chardonnay). I am not a big meat eater but had the Moroccan Paella so I could try everything and found it flavorful and the portion was huge! My mother-in-law had... More
