A Memorable Dining Experience

We had not been to Oakleys for several years. It is on the opposite end of Indianapolis from where we live. But we decided we wanted a special place to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday. We have been to Oakleys twice before for special occasions and have always enjoyed it and always looking forward to returning. Chef Steven Oakley seems to always have unusual flavor combinations that are not found on most typical restaurant menus. I wish I could have posted a more positive review but am just unable to.This visit was a disappointment. Many... More

Just went to Oakley's a couple of nights ago. Had an excellent experience....as always. Oakley's isn't going to stretch the culinary boundaries of the latest greatest hottest newest trendiest- just because they can. But they will likely deliver a great experience- food/service/wine/ambiance- more so than any place in Indy. I have been there a dozen times. They just keep doing... More

We tried this restaurant based on a glowing recommendation from friends. While I hate to trash a locally owned restaurant, this was not a good meal for anyone in our party. We started the meal with a lemon grass lobster bisque which was good and had a nice melding of flavors with the lemon grass. We also had the deviled... More

Food was delicious and very nice presentations. The shrimp corndog starter was presented on a small butcher block at the table with a delicious sauce. We had a variety of entrees at our table including Stanley's Mearloaf, Pork Porterhouse and I had the Salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I love the Salmon. Some people didn't particularly care for the Sorbet &... More

Last month I had the good fortune to enjoy two dinners at Oakley's. Meal 1 - Lobster Bisque, Meatloaf, and Carmel Apple Cheesecake; Meal 2 - Lobster Waffle, Salmon, and the Fall Sampling dessert. Visit one was a small dinner - just three of us and we enjoyed great service and had a really nice evening. Visit 2 was a... More

Went for our anniversary. I like the atmosphere a lot. Casual but nice. staff very friendly and helpful with recommendations. menu is not extensive, but has 8-10 choices. really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts. not usually a fan but they were crisp, in balsamic and seasoned well.

This is one of our favorite local places in Indy! Interesting bistro with new specials daily. Some of our favorites include the Shrimp Corndog appetizer, Meatloaf and Short Ribs. We've been at least 10 times and are never disappointed! Quaint atmosphere with reasonable wine list and good cocktails.

We dined at Oakley's with 4 adults and 3 teenagers of varying ages, and we all enjoyed our meals immensely. Although located in a typical suburban strip mall, the atmosphere is warm and the decor is upscale yet comfortable. The menu provides good variety - large and small plates; meat, fish and vegetarian options; basic and adventurous; light and heavy;... More

Five of us enjoyed a wonderful dinner last evening here at Oakley's. My wife and I have been here many times in in the past - and this is one of our "go to" spots for a wonderful dining experience. While looks might be deceiving given its location in a strip mall, Oakley's is a cozy place where you can... More
