Wanted those Waffles!!!!

I found this place on trip advisor and it didn't disappoint on taste or pricing. I had the Cinnamon Waffle and three huge chicken wings with a side of macaroni and cheese. They were absolutely delicious!!! You had an option of Plain,Strawberry,Cinnamon, or Peach for your waffle. The service was... read more

Slow. On my first visit the only good thing was the chicken wings. Beef sausage was awful. Food was lukewarm. Undoubtedly because it had been sitting and sitting and waiting...did I mention the service was slow? I don't know what the hype is all about. Its loud in there! Concrete floors. Zero ambiance. Overpriced food. Second visit...slow service. Food was... More

I was a little skeptical when my son wanted to treat me to breakfast while I was in Indy. I mean really, who would think of chicken wings and waffles? After filling up with this unique combination, I have to say I'm hooked! Great food and service. You have to try the cinnamon waffles,( I wish they still carried sweet... More

I had reviews that said this place was good but wasn't sure when I saw it. It is certainly not fancy. You can tell that a lot of locals eat here. However, I came away sold!! I was in town for several weeks while my husband was in the hospital. This quickly became a place that I brought people. It certainly... More

I have LOVED everything I have ever eaten at Maxine's. As a local, I love to frequent local businesses and initially wanted to try it because it was something different. The complimentary corn bread and peach butter makes you want to pay for about 5 more, the chicken and waffles are obviously delicious, and I could go on and on... More

I actually saw this restaurant on trip advisor. It was the last stop before returning home. The wait was about 20mins. There was very little sitting or standing room while you waited, not really a big deal to me. The place isn't huge, the capacity sign was for 140. And it seemed they are used to accommodating larger parties, There... More

I have eaten at Maxine's several times and have not been disappointed. My favorite inexpensive item is the $6 chicken wing and choice of waffle, which I usually pick, if I can, a sweet potato or strawberry. The food is tasty, and can be, in my opinion, a little pricey if you don't go for a special and want to... More

I was so surprised to find good soul food all the way north in Indianapolis but Maxine did deliver. Their sweet tea, fried green tomatoes, chicken and waffles, everything is so excellent! What I especially love is that Maxine tops almost every dish with their own peach butter spread. It is so good that I wish they sold it to... More
