one of Sydneys greats

Had dinner with a friend & we were both disappointed with the menu, the service & the food. The menu is limited & uninspiring, we settled for the prawn cutlets for entree & I had the octopus in spicy tomato sauce for main. The prawns were no better than you can buy frozen in the supermarket with a boring salad... More

Excellent service, atmosphere, staff and food and they've been around for a while. This isn't easy to do in Five Dock because of the high population of Italians. This doesn't make sense at first but Italian restaurants don't last that long in the area because of the old Italian cliche of, "my mum's a better cook than yours" but Filicudi... More

We have been here a few times and the food & service is always great! Traditional Italian food, great pizzas and great specials are on the menu. Family friendly and such nice people!

I revisted this restaurant after many years away from the area. There was and reassurance when I entered the restaurant and the murals on the wall were the same as in the 70's, exposed beams in the ceiling decorated with Chainti bottles. The delicious food was just how I remembered. The atmosphere is about as Italian as you will get.... More

The atmosphere is great but has not changed much in 30yrs . The staff are efficient and friendly . It is great for those who like older style cooking .The vegetables are boring and overcooked . The pasta dishes are very good and consistent .The menu could do with an update .Prices are reasonable .A good place for families looking... More

Great pizza, fantastic fresh pasta. My wife had the lemon sole fish and it was perfect. All meat dishes are first class. I had the veal and was more than happy. Deserts sensational and everything is reasonably priced. Recommended but make sure you book as it is popular. Also staff are very helpful and friendly.

Good solid Italian food with Sicilian influence. Pure 1960s ambiance with raffia-wrapped Chianti bottles hanging from the ceiling. The food tasted good, the fish and veggies were ever-so-slightly overcooked. The sauces hearty, not delicate. The $39 bottle of Sicilian wine was ordinary. Service was friendly and accommodating. Very noisy when full.

Forget Leichhardt - if you truly want to experience fantastic Italian food, head just down the road to Five Dock. Filicudi has been there for years and is a gem of a restaurant. Amazing home-style Italian cooking, pared with friendly and authentic service. Make sure you order a Bianco garlic pizza, penne granchi with crab and a mascarpone for dessert.

I have been going to Filicudi for a few years now and I have always found the food great. If you want a really fabulous spaghetti marinara, this is the place to go. Not only the spaghetti marinara, all the other dishes are superb as well. The wine list is one of the best I have encountered; top quality local... More
