We drive to Greenwood, IN from the NE side of Indianapolis a couple times per month specifically to eat at Jonathan Byrds. The food is excellent and the portions are very large. I do have one suggestion for the cafeteria. They need to eliminate the Take Home neon sign on the front of the building which can lead someone to... More

The food is sometimes inconsistent, sometimes good and sometimes just ok. They do have good desserts consistently. We live close, so we have been here many times. Recently they have closed off part of the restaurant which has not pleased some of the customers, I guess because they have not been as busy over the last year or two.

Byrd's always has great food, that is why we chose this as our venue. We should have read our contract better though as some of the food items were not what we had discussed two weeks prior to the event. But everything went off without a hitch. (Except for us.) Everyone we talked with had no idea there were any... More

We use to love to eat here, but when we stopped in today, we were shocked to see that the place was half the size it used to be and that they did not have the selection of foods we were used to seeing. If we would have not been hungry, we would not have stayed.

After going to the drive-thru 3 times within the month, I have learned that they never have anything listed on their menu! I am so disappointed because this used to be a reasonable place to go. They only have 3 pies available: coconut creme, toll house, and Oreo, but they have several listed on their menu. Each time I've been... More

This long established Central Indiana restaurant, although a shell of it's former self, is still a great place to eat. Conveniently located off I-65 at the Greenwood exit, the current eatery occupies only a portion of building. However, don't be deceived - the food is as good as ever. They make some of the best fried chicken you will ever... More

We travel I-65 through Indiana a couple times a year to visit family, and stop at Jonathan Byrd's Cafeteria whenever it fits into the schedule. We ate there today, and while the cafeteria has been downsized, the food was as tasty as ever. This family business made the tough decision to reduce its offerings and seating given changing dining habits.... More

Having there on several occasions while visiting central Indiana I returned there on Mother's Day this year. The cafeteria has been downsized into a corner and strongly lacks the atmosphere it previously had. I sat in an undersized booth and when I realized that there were no condiments on the table I asked a server if they had any. She... More

I read the other reviews and could not believe they did not love it. Good quality, very clean, very reasonable price. I have ate there many times, sometimes wonderful sometimes just good, but always a value.
