This long established Central Indiana restaurant, although a shell of it's former self, is still a great place to eat. Conveniently located off I-65 at the Greenwood exit, the current eatery occupies only a portion of building. However, don't be deceived - the food is as good as ever. They make some of the best fried chicken you will ever... More

We travel I-65 through Indiana a couple times a year to visit family, and stop at Jonathan Byrd's Cafeteria whenever it fits into the schedule. We ate there today, and while the cafeteria has been downsized, the food was as tasty as ever. This family business made the tough decision to reduce its offerings and seating given changing dining habits.... More

Having there on several occasions while visiting central Indiana I returned there on Mother's Day this year. The cafeteria has been downsized into a corner and strongly lacks the atmosphere it previously had. I sat in an undersized booth and when I realized that there were no condiments on the table I asked a server if they had any. She... More

I read the other reviews and could not believe they did not love it. Good quality, very clean, very reasonable price. I have ate there many times, sometimes wonderful sometimes just good, but always a value.

This is one of the cleanest, friendliest, Christian owned and operated restaurants that u will be able to visit. The fried chicken is a takeoff of KFC, but better! The owner was an owner of a KFC franchise. They have a wide variety of food to choose from at a very reasonable price. Most food is made from scratch. Their... More

The location close near I-65 south of Indianapolis and the large building are great. Sadly, the food has never been as good as it could be.

The food is horrible. Price for the food is too high. That explains way there were only 5 customers there. My family and I will never go back.

Like most cafeteria style restaurant's, this one is expensive. The food was average, the staff about the same. The decor felt empty and outdated.

Jonathan Byrd's is reminiscent of the day of the truly great large volume cafeterias. We were with a large group and were treated very well. Fried chicken is very good, and sides were out standing. I don't understand some of the terrible reviews Jonathan Byrd's has received, but I guess sometimes some people will grumble no matter what.

After leaving little Nashville the wife and I decided to drive up to Jonathan Byrd's for dinner. The crowd seemed to be 60 and over. We grabed a tray and started down the line. THe wife had chicken Parm and I had fried chicken. We both had mac & cheese, mash potatoes, chicken and dumplings, roll, and a slice of... More
