We stop at Jim Dandy's for their breakfast buffet when we are passing through town. The service is always fast and friendly, the place is busy with local folks, and ample breakfast selections are available. On yesterday's visit the buffet selections included scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon, pancakes, French toast sticks, fried mush, cream-of-wheat, fried biscuits, and fruit. Realizing that... More

Jim Dandy is on old time favorite. Love their Jim Dandy burgers and onion rings! They have fantastic waitresses most have been there for a long time. They have a family atmosphere. Broasted chicken is great on nights you don't feel like cooking.

I go up to Jim Dandy's every Tuesday night. It is Senior Night and you get 33% off your meal. There is a buffet, or you can order off the menu. The liver and onions are good, so is the hand breaded tenderloin sandwich. I love their Rhubarb pie, specially warmed. A couple of the waitresses have been there a... More

Jim Dandy is the kind of place that is filled with seniors most nights. The food is a little bit cafeteria-style, and the menu is pretty limited. However, the food is very cheap and if you're wanting to go out and don't have much money, it's definitely better than sitting at home. The manhattans are decent, and some nights they... More

This is a small restaurant down the road from the interstate. They offer a salad bar with provides limited choices, but usually a choice of 2 soups. The soups are good. I try to have the soup and salad bar for lunches when I travel, but this salad bar is too limited to call it an enjoyable lunch.

The food is good and served in a timely manner. The best part of Jim Dandy is the staff! They are prompt and friendly. They know many of the patrons by name. The manager is always around and circulates to each table to check on the customers.

Try to not do chains when we can. Went in for breakfast. Just had basic eggs and potato's. Nothing to write home about, but fine. Good waitress, kept coffee filled. Neat place lots of history from the past on the walls.

Not bad food — they just need to keep the buffet area clean. Yes, I had the buffet and food doesn't always stay fresh in this type of setting. If they brought out fresh food, including salad base, more often, I would give it a better rating. The sevice was OK and the people there are friendly.

Food is not very good --- very bland, except for the salt --- there is a lot of salt. Not much atmosphere and the staff, although kind, is not adequate.

Stopped in for lunch on a trip across Indiana. The restaurant looks dated, but seems to have a reputation among locals. I had the broasted chicken, which was described to me as being fried in some sort of pressure cooker. It was OK, but could have used more seasoning. The side of mashed potatoes was disappointing, as instant potatoes rather... More
