We had a group of 16 for this historic place. It was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We went there as this was a local hot spot about a block from Goshen College. Near Elementary school. The outside looked like a old diner and the inside had lots of Goshen banners on the walls with pictures etc. We made... More

Had the chance to swing thru this place for lunch while doing the Heritage Quilt Garden Trail. We saw that it was a DDD and it definately did not disappoint. Two of us had the BLT Special which was awesome..added swiss cheese and gaucamole to the traditional BLT... Hubby and friend had the Philly Cheeses Steak and said it was... More

Love this restaurant! It is an old school diner, so don't expect anything gourmet. The food is always yummy, the shakes are fantastic, and the pie selection is out of this world! The atmosphere is fun. Our daughters always request this restaurant if we tell them we are eating out. Staff is always fast and friendly. A few of the... More

If you want to take a trip back into time then this is the place for you!! I would suggest some of the food fare off the menu that you see on "Diners, Drive-In's, and Dives. The Philly steak and cheese is to die for and I mainly go for the Green Rivers which are hard to find anywhere. As... More

The South Side Soda Shop was featured once on "Diners, Drive-Ins,, and Dives" They have a great hometown feeling, with great diner style food. It's worth the stop if you are going to, or driving thru Goshen

Located on corner so probably will have to park at school across the street, Sign on door assures you that this is OK. Old fashioned, crowded but fun. Had Swedish Limpa bread, which I had not had in 40 years. Asked for a taste to be sure was what i wanted. Waitress brought full slice Also, a liverwurst, bacon and... More

Stopped by for dinner at the South Side Soda shop. Locals eat here, in indicator that the food is good. Had the crab cakes (yummy), side salad (mixed greens, cucumber, tomatoes a nice little salad), and cherry crumb pie (outstanding). Other folks in my party enjoyed their food too. Pie selection was amazing.

The old style diner theme is very appealing. But you must like crowded eateries to really enjoy this place as it is almost always packed during lunch & dinner time from my observations (in passing by the place occasionally). I have only eaten there twice (probably about 20 years between visits) I think I had a burger & fries on... More

Just had a late lunch there this afternoon. Nick, the owner, shared with us how fresh the fish and oysters are. Had 6 oysters. They were best I have ever had. Tried a cup of the snapping turtle soup. It was awesome. It was better then the Cap Cod Room's (Drake Hotel in Chicago) bookbinder soup. Philly cheesesteak sandwich was... More
