This place is so small and so old it's totally classic. I'm not sure if world travelers would have the same feeling but I just love this place. If you have the time I would totally recommend it. If you can go for the front room.

I picked this restaurant because I usually agree with the reviews on this site and this was #1 of #525. But I don't agree with this being #1. First off the atmosphere is quaint San Francisco style and don't expect elbow room because there isn't any. The tables in the front are squished together and there is no room to... More

We found this little gem when searching for a restaurant on Trip Advisor while driving through Indiana on our way home to Michigan. We were immediately impressed to find a full dining room on a Monday evening. We were happy to have dinner at the bar and chat with the friendly staff. And then the food...wow!!! The menu alone was... More

The Oyster Bar has been a fixture in Fort Wayne for many years with good reason. The food is uniformly good. My wife had the Divers Scallops and thought they were great. I had Seafood in a chhese sauce which was also very good. Service was decent even in the somewhat cramped dining area. My only disappointment was dessert which... More

back to Ft Wayne for an event. Met some friends at the oyster bar. It was as good as we remembered . The shrimp in hot sauce with celery and but cheese is tasty and spicy. The fish the ladies had was fresh and perfect. I had jumbalyla which had many good flavors but could have had more spice. This... More

It is a small local place. Surprisingly good clam chowder and very fresh Oysters. If you sit in the back room you have to walk through the kitchen to get to your table. Reasonably priced wine menu. Lots of daily specials - appetizers and entrees. If you can't make up your mind, they'll serve half orders. Good service.

The food is outstanding, one of the best in town! It is also very pricey so we only go on special occasions. It's a nice treat and something to look forward to. The decor is gorgeous, I feel like I've slipped back in time. Very ornate and historic like. Great for a couples dinner.

Midweek dinner here was a great date! Fresh oysters were large and juicy. Drinks were generous and icy cold. Server was attentive and quick. Our dinners were delicious - I had grouper lightly blackened with rice. Sides and salads were fresh and flavorful. The adjacent table had a calamari appetizer that looked fabulous. Atmosphere here is like it's always been... More

The Oyster Bar is a welcome find far from the nearest ocean. Last place I was served John Dory was hundreds of miles from Fort Wayne. A great variety of fish and shellfish. Owner/manager warmly greets gusets and asks for feedback on their meals. Arrive early, especially for lunch!

Excellent old-time atmosphere! Very Good food! Reservations are a must in this small restaurant. Good downtown location with adequate parking in their lot.
