Been here a few times. It is a hole in the wall but well worth the time to find. Value is great. Food is nothing special but that is part of the appeal. At lunch the place is packed. The specials are very popular.

Visited Hornville Tavern for first time in almost 3 years. The food was as delicious as we remembered it but the tavern was so busy the service was lacking. On entering every vacant table had a Reserved sign so we sat at bar. Immediately a server came to seat us at a table. Very nice! The waitress had to be... More

Hornville Tavern is a bit out in the country, and is mostly surrounded by corn/bean fields, but it is well worth the trip. Charming local atmosphere, reasonable prices, and good food makes it a winner. There are several "similar" local restaurants located on the north side of Evansville, and Hornville is easily my favorite.

There's nothing fancy about this place; it's very casual but the food is great. Our food was served promptly and we were surprised the portion size was so large with such a reasonable price. We were going to get dessert because of all the rave reviews, but it took the waitress 45 mins to come to our table after we... More

A group of friends and I eat at Hornville every few weeks and normally on our wed night mens night. I have got the Fried Chicken and the Smoked Chicken and both are great and very cheap for what you get. I got a half a fried chicken (4Pieces) baked potato, green beans and a slice of beer bread. To... More

If Your'e a Local and You Don't Eat Here at Least Once a Month, what the heck is wrong with you!? We stopped in on a Tuesday evening and had the smoked chicken special: OUTSTANDING! The German potato salad was perhaps the best I've ever had. Excellent choice of beer on tap. Next time we are in Evansville this is... More

They are kind of out of the way and hole in the wall but you won't be disappointed. Their specials are amazing. I had one of the best steaks there. Their portions are great, too. Plus their beers are plentiful and cheap.

My wife and I went here for lunch on her birthday, because we like to check out non-chain places. We had a couple of beers and their porkchop special. It was all delicious and priced nicely.

Forget the chains, the pretentious Haub steak house and go get you some good honest food. All of the meats are prepared very well and portions are generous. Ask for the German potato salad which isn't on the menu but that is what the German farmers ask for and so did I! The pies will make you miss your grandmother.... More
