Good food

Went here to check it out for rehearsal dinner. Very nice people and place was very busy. Food was good, nothing special about decor, but overall decent place to eat that is not a chain restaurant. The German potato salad was delicious !!

We had the fried chicken and the pork chop (for which they are "famous") and they were both decent. However, the pork chop was a huge disappointment from what I was expecting. I had eaten there about 20 years ago and the thick, smoked pork chop was nothing short of amazing. This time it was on the dry side and... More

Our family is on a trip to Florida, and we picked the Hornville Tavern for lunch. It's a pretty interesting drive, because your way out in the country. I would suggest making sure you have a Garmin or some sort of GPS to help you get there. Very cool looking Tavern, wonderful food, great lunch specials. Service was great and... More

I was in the area last year and saw the place advertised on Taste of the Tri-State. The service was not great (almost rude), the food was just ok, and I lost my appetite after I some foreign matter under the sandwich of my eating companion. Maybe we were just there at the wrong time. There weren't many other patrons... More

The menu is varied, service good, and always tasty! There is a special each evening, but my favorite is the really thick, juicy Pork Chop! The meals are served with their special Beer Bread. Prices are reasonable.

This is a great little place in the middle of nowhere. The pork chops are excellent, but they do not have them every day. Nor do they have fried chicken every day, so one needs to check. The chicken is good as well. Great prices, tavern atmosphere.

This is a very good restaurant even though it is out in the country a little bit. My wife had the ribeye sandwich and I had the bacon cheeseburger. Both were very good and the service was great as well. I know from previous experience that their pork chops are awesome too. It is a tavern but they do have... More

The Hornville Tavern, famous in these parts for appearing in the movie "A League of Their Own" has consistently excellent food and service. Specials throughout the week include chicken on Wednesday (fried or smoked) and thick pork chops on Thursday. They also have the standard tavern food (burgers, sandwiches, fish) prepared well and at very reasonable prices. It's a nice... More
