If you are in the Evansville area and are looking for a local, family-run establishment with great regional food where the service is welcoming and efficient, this is the place to go! I've been coming from the east coast to The Log Inn for over 35 years to enjoy the fabulous food and ambience. The family style fried chicken dinner... More

Well, what can one add that's not already been said by the others reviewers. Log Inn is an institution in southern Indiana. Food is always delicious, hot, and served quickly. The only down side I have to say is the price....it is quite high....but as I usually say, if you know that going in, and go anyway, well, enjoy your... More

This is one of those places still making everything by hand and you can tell by the quality of food. They are known for the family style sides served along side country ham, fried chicken, and roast beef. I recommend if you are in the area to try the place but beware there will be a wait. My tip is... More

The Log Inn is unique. It's very old and a stage coach stop that good ole Indiana boy Abe Lincoln visited. The food is great. The service is great. The only bad thing about this place is the wait on week-ends and that they don't take credit cards.

Absolutely fantastic meal and great service. Went there with 7 other friends and family. The food was served hot, plenty of it, and was just as good as the first time we visited last year. Highly suggest you visiting this place if you are in the area. I had the Ham Steak, my wife had the Chicken, we shared and... More

You've never had fried chicken like they serve at Log Inn. A local favorite for years. Great for large parties. Make reservations though- you'll still have a bit of a wait since the line to get in usually goes out the door. Their pie is a must too!

The Log Inn has some of the best fried chicken and ham steaks in the area. They serve family style so you can as much of the sides as you want. The prices are very reasonable for the great food you get. Service is great too.

THEY DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS. This is frustrating because they are in a rural location. They do offer an ATM in the lobby with a fee that I consider predatory ($6, if I remember right). Honestly, that left a sour taste in my mouth. The Log Inn's history is great. The food is served family style. The vegetables are sweetened,... More

Unlimited potatoes, corn, slaw, peas and much much more with your choice of meat. They keep the table FULL! But you must save room for some peanut butter pie. Or you could always do what I do, get your dessert in a to go box. I can't leave this place without my pie! We always have big family gatherings here... More

It was the history that drew us to The Log Inn. Abraham Lincoln was there in 1844 during a campaign tour when The Log Inn was one of the main stage coach stops between Evansville and Vincennes. The Log Inn is a restored log cabin that has had several owners and rooms added on over the decades. We were surprised... More
