Recently went with a group of friends. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. I heard no complaints about any of them. I would recommend ordering a couple of first courses for the table to share. They are not very big, so at our table of six, we all got a couple of small bites of each. We especially enjoyed the Sweet Corn... More

Had not dined at Restaurant Tallent for a few months (for no particular reason other than there are many options in Bloomington) and following our recent dinner, we were reminded why this is one of the best and most unique restaurants in the area. Great service and wonderful food - I recommend any dish featuring pork - the chef is... More

We went on a weeknight that ended up being pretty busy night for them. We went with the five course dinner and wine pairing. You can tell them if you have aversions to certain menu items, then it's chef choice. We sampled the soft shell crab, the arugula beet salad, the halibut, the walleye and marscarpone cheesecake for the ending.... More

I stayed two nights in Bloomington and ate at Restaurant Tallent both nights. I had great services, great food, and great wine. The chef/owner is a New York CIA-trained chef and his wife is a trained pastry chef who selects the wines on the wine list. I highly recommend trying Restaurant Tallent if you find yourself in Bloomington.

My husband and I enjoyed dining at Restaurant Tallent over the weekend. When we entered we were impressed the hostess knew we were there to celebrate our anniversary. Our waitress even knew that one of us is vegetarian based on a question we made when calling to make our reservation about what the current vegetarian offerings would be. We were... More

We were visiting friends who've moved to Bloomington to teach at IU from here in Boston. Who knew that there'd be exceptional restaurants in Bloomington!? Wow. The six of us had the chef's tasting menu and wine pairings. Each course was exceptional. Succulent fish, delightful soft-shelled crab, delectable meat...and an amazing cheese course. And the wines were unexpected, as well.... More

We ate here graduation weekend. It was the standard set menu of $65 per person for 3 courses. There were only very boring and uninspired entree offerings to choose from . I had the chicken, which was basically plain baked chicken with dressing and a tablespoon of sauteed spinach. In addition to the disappointing flavor, the portions are small and... More

I have had the pleasure of eating at some pretty fabulous restaurants around the world. My daughter chose this restaurant for her birthday dinner and so we went. The menu you see on line does not resemble the menu you are offered. How difficult could it be to keep this updated? Appetizer of soup (sweet corn soup with 3 tiny... More

My husband and I enjoy quiet dinners and trying new cuisine. Our dinner at Restaurant Tallent did not disappoint. In fact, the mussels were without a doubt the best we have ever had and we have literally ordered dozens of different variations of prepared mussels at restaurants around the country. Our fish and beef dinners were prepared expertly and served... More

My husband and I ate dinner here in December and January. Our first visit we each ordered off the menu a primi and secondi and they were both unbelievable. The fresh bread and home made butter were incredible. For me that day, the Squash Soup stole the show and I wanted more more more! The wines selected by our extremely... More
