Rehearsal dinner

Rehearsal dinner. Good food. Great bar. Only knock was one bartender got mad when I tried to get a better whiskey instead of the Bullit they default to on this drink. And he brought the wrong drink. I liked the atmosphere. Right next to walking trail and core of downtown.

The fish and chips and the blarney balls are good. I enjoy the atmosphere (mostly - not a fan of the dead animal heads).

We were disappointed to learn that we couldn't order a Reuben at night. On their to go menu it was listed under pub fare that was available at night, but was not not on their regular under pub fare. I liked the fish and chips pretty well and they give you a lot, but my husband didn't like his lamb... More

Very nice Irish pub in the heart of Bloomington. The lamb chops were delicious as was the potato soup. Pretty good pint of Guinness also. I can see how this place could become a regular stop if I lived close by.

I have been coming to Irish Lion ever since I moved to Bloomington in 2000. They have the best food, appetizers, entrees and service. Located in downtown, near The B line, farmers market, you can't beat the old world charm here!

Good service and nicely cooked leg if lamb. Medium rare with gravy and vegetables. Mint jelly was disappointing and I recommend that they provide mint sauce in future. My wife's steak was good. Recommended. Come before 8 pm.

We were in town for our daughter's IU volleyball event and stopped by the Irish Lion after walking around the Courthouse Square. It was a great afternoon lunch with wonderful service since the college students were mostly away for the summer.

I love the Irish Lion. Fish and chips, lamb hamburger, coddle, stew, blarney puff balls (potato and cheese fried goodness with sour cream) all are excellent. Lamb chops? Got em. Corned beef and cabbage? Yup. Specials on the weekend. Indeed. Never disappoints. Bathrooms are on second floor and unless you can't climb a flight of stairs you can make it.... More

The rating is not based on food which is always excellent. Depending on the hostess, rude usually. The building is old. Impossible for someone in wheelchair, difficult for any other walking aid. No first floor bathroom, they tell you to go down the street to another restaurant to use the facilities if you cannot climb the stairs to the bathrooms... More
