Great!

I was in Bloomington on business and was recommended this restaurant. I had a GREAT fillet. It was cooked perfect and the blue cheese dressing was made in house and was one of the best I have ever had. I had three beers, salad, fillet and baked potato for $37 plus tip. Although I'm from Scottish... read more

The two of us finally made it back to the Irish Lion after 20 yrs or so. It hasn't changed much. Still a barrel of fun, great beer and whiskys to choose from. Friendly and happy servers galore. And one of the few places around you can still find a "yard" of beer. We visited on a Friday night before... More

This is a wonderful restaurant hidden on the west end of Kirkwood. Not quite sure how this Irish pub/restaurant started in Bloomington but it is a welcome change from sports bars and sandwich shops. The food is always good and there is ample variety. I had the lamp chops this time and they were excellent. If you are looking for... More

This building has housed a pub since it was built in the late 1800's. The cozy wood paneled walls and massive wood bar with a vast array of Whiskies welcomes you along with the Irish music playing in the background. Not just the regular pub grub - although they have burgers, bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, fish and chips -... More

The place was packed, but we found a seat at the bar and enjoyed a few beverages first. The fish and chips and the Irish stew was very good. Service was great considering the amount of people to serve. And drinking an Irish beer, I was able to take a glass home with each glass I drank. Great appeal!

I'll say this from the outset....what a shame...there I said it. The Irish Lion looks the part....it certainly gives the impression of age and has that classic Irish/British pub feel. The staff were friendly efficient and knowledgeable so the the scene was set for a great experience. Alas things from here went slightly awry. The menu was extensive and inviting... More

The best part of the meal was the appetizer which was the potato puffs. The service was great. I had the steam and the person I was with had the lamb. Both were just average.

Stopped by for lunch today and had the fish and chips The fish was fine but both the fish and fries appeared to be something that was pre-made from the frozen food distributor. My wife have a shrimp and rice dish that was as she described "fine and average". Not a lot of flavor. The service was good. Server was... More

We love the selection of scotch and whiskey! Atmosphere and food are reliable and we love going here. The corned beef is not at tender as I remember and wasn't cut properly but the flavor was good and with enough beers, it seemed to turn out alright in the the end. We are always pleased to come back and never... More
