Very quaint place to visit. The food is some of the best you're going to find in Bloomington. The prices are very reasonable, and your impression from the outside might lead you astray, but you owe it to yourself to give it a chance.

We love eating at the Runcible Spoon any time but especially on a beautiful day when we can sit outside on the patio. In May the restaurant was very accommodating of our large family group after my daughter's graduation...inside in one of the bigger rooms. We had a huge variety of food that day and everyone loved what they got.... More

We visited the Runcible Spoon during Parents weekend. Our breakfast was fabulous. Gourmet ingredients, and delicious tastes. I ordered the western omelet, and my wife ordered Blue Berry pancakes. In her words, they were 'amazing: I have never had pancakes like that before.!" Both dishes were fabulous. Coupled with ecclectic decor, earthy, but fun atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive.... More

Very cute restaurant, located right off kirkwood. The restaurant is in an old house. The omelettes were excellent. Best breakfast in town.

Cute little restaurant in an old house right off Kirkwood ave. Creative dishes sourcing local products. This place is so popular the wait is long on weekends...but worth the wait.

Best breakfast/brunch ever! Let me tell you, you need to go here for breakfast! Had the smoked salmon benedict with a decaf coffee, fresh fruit, and potatoes. The portion sizes were plentiful. The food was perfect. Loved the organic coffee that they roast fresh daily. Aside from the food the place is so charming. They have a cute outdoor seating... More

Everytime I come here I wonder why I ever go anywhere else.. The portions are huge... Big enough to split!!! The quality is top notch and the service and the atmosphere is laid back and fun!!! $15 bill for two and it was more than we could finish!!!! Just can't say enough good bout the spoon!!!

Famous for their breakfast and rightly so. Good solid cooking with some local touches. They have been in the same location for many years and pouplar with locals and visitors to IU. Very crowded on weekends so expect a wait unless you get there early. Dinner not so crowded.

The Runcible Spoon, known to locals as either Runcible or "the Spoon," is a low-key, relaxing place for a meal, a quiet cup of afternoon coffee, or a heart-to-heart with a friend. The servers are always solicitous and helpful; the kitchen staff will alter pretty much any dish to meet your requests. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and... More

In Bloomington to visit our college student son, we decided to stop in here for brunch. There was a crowd outside so we thought we'd have a long wait, but it was just a few minutes. Great selection of coffees and teas. Two of us had bagels with lox - wonderful. our son had the eggs benedict with lox and... More
