My kids and I come here every year, after the Breast Cancer Walk, its like a reward, we look forward too. Start with a Blind Daves Mocha, then a (plate-sized) banana, or blueberry pancake, and home fries(the best!) on the side!!! Love this place!! Have never been for lunch, or dinner, but I hear its just as awesome!!

Our favorite place to go on a date in Bloomington. Extensive coffee and tea list, amazing breakfasts, and surprisingly good ribeyes for dinner. Decorations are eclectic, to say the least, making it a fun atmosphere to go along with the good food!

Great coffee and the food is tremendous! My favorite is the veggie benny with salmon! But haven't had a bad meal there ever.

The Runcible Spoon, in a word, has character; it's a turn of the century (that is, 19th to 20th century) house, with beautiful Mission-style wood finish that hits the balance between lively and relaxing. The food is great and reasonably priced, and I had a Chai Latte here that has spoiled me for any other Chai in town. Their Spoon... More

Breakfasts are delicious and Matt 's a Lamb stew is to die for. Jessica and other wait staff remember your names and work their hardest to please.

We had an excellent dinner! The salmon dish was outstanding. The service was just right. It's a cool place because you feel like you are at home.

The restaurant is rustic and the food is fantastic! The food quality was above my expectations and the time from our order to table was excellent. We really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and the fruit was in season and a perfect side. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. I definitely recommend the restaurant.

My family ate brunch at this funky, quaint little place and were not disappointed. The Runcible Spoon has been a Bloomington institution for decades--we remember it from the five years we spent living in Bloomington in the early 1980's. The restaurant is located in an old house, and the decor is creative, warm, and interesting, with several cozy rooms that... More

This restaurant holds such memories for me from when I was a student and would meet friends for breakfast or coffee. So a friend and I decided to breakfast there on our last visit. Well. It felt like a scene out of Portlandia when we asked to have a "fresh" cup of coffee instead of from the pot that had... More

This area of Bloomington (near IU) seems full of charming little cafes - we chose this one literally because it was right across the street from the parking garage (street parking is difficult and crowded). We weren't disappointed. Breakfast is served all day, although we opted for lunch. The food was very good, different without being weird. Service seemed a... More
