An eclectic restaurant front on 6th street, the Runcible Spoon was a delightful surprise. My wife and I ordered the braised pork tenderloin and the salmon. Not only were the meats wonderful, but so were the sides (potatoes and sautéed vegetable). With great selection of beer, wine, and coffee drinks, wonderful homey environment as well as great customer service, this... More

Perfect spot for a laid back breakfast. Today wasn't busy so service was very good. Coffee coulda been hotter the first round, but got better. Kippers were a great treat. Needed more more choice of jelly than just strawberry and blackberry. Eating outside felt like a nice California spot. Would definitely come back.

I love their breakfast. Everything that I have gotten here has been great. They also have a coffee drink called "Blind Dave's Mocha" That is out of this world. It has chocolate ice cream in it.... The decor looks like a fancy study with bookshelves and local art. They did have a bathtub in the bathroom with fish in it... More

We ate here twice on a recent visit to Bloomington. I had eggs and ham for breakfast and was overly pleased to see ham steak here means a piece of meat 5 times that of what you would normally get elsewhere. The refills of the coffee occur every few minutes without being asked and the staff for the most part... More

We had not been here for two to three years, so we were excited to go, as it was one of our favorite places in Bloomington to eat. It's decor is cozy and well-worn, so be prepared. My wine bottle slid off the table. Great food and service. I had the black bean, vegetable and rice soup and a grilled... More

We are regular diners at The Spoon for breakfast and dinner and have never been disappointed! Irish-born Chef Matt O 'Neill creates great food, in a funky, town & gown setting from an old two story frame house a block from IU's campus. Surrounded by flowers, the outdoor dining on patio and porches makes for an old world setting. Live... More

I ate at the Runcible Spoon each morning for 6 days while in Bloomington. What attracted me were the good reviews and the daily fresh roasted coffee. I tried a variety of items including Eggs Benedict (with fresh homemade hollandaise), the daily special of 2 eggs, meat and whole wheat toast, an eye pleasing and palate pleasing granola, fruit and... After a late night of drinking on Kirkwood, we stopped in here for breakfast. The pancakes were divine with nuts and fruit, plus delicious coffee. Really lovely little café.

My partner was looking for breakfast food at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and Google provided us with the Runcible's menu. Her French toast and bacon was good, but I ordered from the lunch menu and have to rave about the skillet seared salmon w/ sauteed veggies. Perfectly cooked salmon w/ the perfect punch from a horseradish caper sauce. The... More
